When tears run dry. Running on hope and faith alone.

Say a little prayer.

Watch over the people in Myanmar and Sichuan.

Edit:

Liam Harker, 17, RIP.

Remember Liam Harker that I previously blogged about, here? He passed away on 5th May. Do read the article, here. When I came to the final sentence of the article, I teared. Yes Liam, you'll never walk alone.

Liverpool v Manchester City.

Wooh I thoroughly enjoyed this match, we dominated majority of the game and it was fun to watch the lads letting themselves loose and zam in goals (well one goal, really, but it could've been lotsa goals XD). Despite all the criticism prior to this game about Kuyt, I think he had a great game, he did really well in winning back possession, covering spaces, even linking up with Torres etc etc. But Kuyt seems to have some problem with his confidence maybe? Unlike Mascherano who sometimes tend to be a solo player (not that I'm complaining too much, Mascherano's our Liverpool Roberto Carlos man, and he's one of the best tacklers well 2nd to Carragher), Kuyt seems to have a lack of confidence about him, he tends to hesitate in the face of defenders and when other strikers would've attempted to flick the ball run forward and zam in a goal, he likes to pass it to other available strikers like Babel or Torres. But yeap nonetheless, with all do respect, he did great tonight. :D Go Kuyt!

And if I have to be really pick one, I guess Babel was A LITTLE off tonight. After that stunning last-minute goal back in the Chelsea game, he missed lotsa chances for this game. Especially the one where he skyrockted the ball in front of goal, after Torres did a brilliant job at containing the ball and picking him out. But yeap he's definitely not written off, Babel's always a dangerous striker to look out for.

It seems Alonso is going to leave us. :,( He's been pretty quiet this season, but I agree with the commentator that he has one of the, if not the widest range of passing, just watch him take the ball from the left to right flank, it's mesmerising. I guess we didn't see too much of that this season though, but we'll definitely be missing him. :(

Oh oh and I think if I have to pick a MOTM from Manchester City, then I'll definitely pick Joe Hart. If not for awesome save after save after save, it would've been easily 3-0. Even with difficult balls like y'know those that barely skim within the far-side of the net, he still managed to flick it clear! Wooh if that's a preview of the next generation of England's GKs, it certainly looks promising! :D

When Didi Hamann got on, the whole of Anfield gave him a standing ovation. He was in the Istanbul 2005 team, and he was one of the key players to bring us back from hell (3-0) to eventually come back and win it. It has been a fantastic 7 years at Anfield.

There was this moment in the game when Stevie knows he's offside and he looks over at the ref while running with the ball on the right flank with a defender trailing, and he actually blew an imaginary whistle to signal to the ref to blow the whistle. Hahaha that scene really tickle me, and this tells you a lot about the refereeing huh. What's with late whistling these days man, seriously. I say send them back to refereeing school! Referees are supposed to ensure fair play around the pitch, not sway a game to either side by making blatantly stupid mistakes. But they're still human I guess. Show us some improvement eh, ref? *silence* Oh oh I'm not "in the line of the ref's vision", so the ref says play on. How convenient. -_-" Thank god for replays!

Ooh then Mr. Meatloaf (Voronin) came on for Gerrard, for me that wasn't so much a tactical move, I guess Rafa played him to attract potential buyers? I think it's the same for Alonso too. Hmm I know it sounds cruel, but I won't be missing too much if Voronin goes. =x

Okay transfer issues aside, we had lotsa sleek and smooth 1-2 passes around the field, I guess defense in Manchester City's camp was asleep last night. But boy did Benjani popped in quite a few scares, he's got Drogball's pace and power man.

Haha and you guys can prolly hear the Torres song many times in almost every single match lately. But yeah I'm gonna sing it anyways. Bear with me. :D

His armband proved he was a red, Torres~ Torres~
You'll Never Walk Alone it says, Torres~ Torres~

We bought the lad from sunny Spain,
He gets the ball he scores again!
Fer~nan~do Torres~ Liverpool's Number 9~

Nananananananana nana~
Nananananananananana nana~

*accompanied by Kopites bouncing along while singing in the legendary Kop end* :D

Most if not all strikers have a signature move, right? And Torres obviously has one too. He's got this knack of driving defenders (in front of him near the edge of the box) and then he'll abruptly pull away from them by trailing/dragging the ball with him and shoots from the far side of the post. And this time, after getting past 2 defenders, he scored between the legs of Hart. It's awesome when he does it!!!! And he applauded the fans after celebrating his goal, grrrrr how can one not like him man!!! Supressing the bimbo in me. Friggin' brilliant! *breaks into another round of Torres song*

Hehe then in the second half Benayoun came on. There's something about him that appeals to me, I know he's not a pretty boy like Torres, but his hair and this air about him. My friends think I'm nuts though. x_x" And the way he runs, haha it always cracks me up kinda. He looks like he's on the edge of tipping over whenever he runs, and that kinda distracts the opponents sometimes. :D I think Benayoun's got potential too, like the other lads, he certainly hasn't reached his max yet.

The commentators were talking about our waaaay overdue stadium (Hicks and Gilette you bloody yanks, are you listening?), but I'm not complaining. On one hand I hope it comes sooner, as it'll accomodate more fans, but then it also means higher ticket prices, and we'll be tearing down the Kop, I know the fans will do their best to replicate the original Kop End, but it'll be different. Argh dillema. @_@

Oh and before the kick-off, they zoomed in on a poster saying "Save Sven". Yes save Sven dammit! He didn't work out for England (well, then Steve McClaren came along and did a sewage job), but he pulled up the ranking for Manchester City this season. Thaksin had too much coconut juice, he's nuts to let Sven go, U_U" after leaving Thailand's political scene in a not-so-glorious fashion, he's changng job to be an owner/manager is it? U_U" Don't let ignorant foreigners butcher the future of English football even if they have stacks of cash! Heck maybe I should start making a poster that says "Save English Football" or somethin, with bad refs, bad boardroom scuffles.

I quote our Great Bill Shankly, "At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques." Hahaha well-said. It's all about the beautiful game, leave the politics dammit!

Well well, I'm hopeful about the next season already! And the lads wore the new jersey tonight!!! I've preordered mine already! ^_^ Happy x Happy!

Chelski 3-2 Liverpool. Champions League Semis 2nd Leg.

Is there a worse start than this?

Please please please! Please I'd sacrifice anything for Liverpool to go through to the finals.

Oh please! Istanbul 2005... we can make it!

YNWA~

I HATE DROGBALLS!

I muted the half-time analysis because all the comments will just go in Chelski's way. It is understandable, but I just don't want to hear anything of it.

We're giving away the ball far far far far far too easily, even Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun lost it countless times. Please transform yourselves into the usual if not better form after coming out of the locker rooms in the 2nd half.

Please, please footballing god (if there is any) please watch over us!

I'd abstain from ALL alcoholic drinks for a year if Liverpool get through this.

Sigh. In the end, it was not to be.

We totally sucked in the first half and gradually gained momentum in the 2nd, I really, really felt we were giving away balls too easily, even Gerrard was to say the least, mediocre, I've never seen so many mistakes from the skipper and honestly, I was a lil' disappointed with this performance. Mascherano brought the momentum back in the 2nd half though, and the Argentinian really did well. Chelski's pace especially that Drogballs ripped our defense apart. Many a time, Drogballs was unleashed from his markers winning in pace. Ballack had a huge part to play as well. Chelski had flow, we were lacking. Can we see this result coming? Definitely. But we won't be leaving Stamford Bridge without a fight, and what a fight we put up with.

When Torres equalised at the 64" after a nice slot in from Benayoun, he gave hope. Torres's goal was supreme in all aspects, class and technique, he's got the total package. The game went into extra time, and by then, together with all other Liverpool fans, I was chewing crazily on my lips, clenching and unclenching fists. Lol. Being a Liverpool fan takes a lot of heart, and nerves of steel I'm telling ya, from the day Gerrard debut until now, it has always been helluva roller coaster ride. But it's okay, all of us can be comforted with the fact that the lads fought on until the very last seconds, literally. When Shevchenko (time-wasting from Chelski no less) was due to be subbed on at the dying minutes of extra time with Chelski leasing my 2 goals, 3-1. The lads at Chelski's box were a lil' distracted as they glanced over at the linesman, anticipating the substitution, it was then Carra signalled to the lads in the box Big Brother style, and the next second Babel struck the ball long and into the back of the net with a deflection off Cech's hand.

Torres's expression when he was on the bench after the score got to 3-1 during extra time really was so heart-wrenching. All Liverpool fans must have felt the same way he felt. I was on MSN and Ah Shing said it was all quiet downstairs (the TV room I guess), and I told her majority of them musts be Liverpool fans. Haha I can empathise with them. When it hits you, you just feel dumbstruck, the feeling of gloom initially, then hope renews your faith and then a bad stroke of luck (Hyypia's penalty) takes it all away again, after the entire match, I was speechless too, empty, light-headed even. I just sat there staring at the TV, I don't feel nothing y'know, I guess only the Liverpool fans understand this feeling. But looking back, I am proud of the lads, and they've given us more than a reason to look forward to the next season. Bring it on! :D

The current Liverpool team is a young squad, especially after a major change with Rafa's introduction of players in from the previous transfer window. Despite our loss, I think this adversity will be one of the key gelling agents for this young and rapidly developing team. And I really hope all that boardroom chaos will finally be settled before the next season, it has caused so much unnecessary stress and distraction that the team really don't deserve to have. Stupid yankees! But yes, I'm more than hopeful come next season. :D

As a final note, I really, really, really dislike Drogballs. Don't even try to appeal for him, call me biased, whatever, I don't like Drogballs. Period. I really dislike players with bad attitude, bad character, bad personality, yes, they might have the skills one could only dream and hope for, but bad character just totally overshadows all that. Such players should really look up to past (model) players like Zidane, or contemporaries like Messi and Ronaldinho.

And honoring captain Stevie's quote, we'll win, lose and draw together as a team. The Liverpool fans present at Stamford Bridge last night were phenomenal, belting out the classic YNWA, and that catchy Torres song when he scored and broke the Stamford curse, amongst many other Anfield tunes. Walk on, walk on, with hopes in our hearts. Come what may, we'll be walking on with the lads come rain or shine.

And all the best to Chelski and Manure in the finals. I do hope the refs can put up their best performance as well, the ref in this match I felt was inconsistent and indecisive, when Hyypia was fouled (in the box and not once, but twice) I heard the ref blow the whistle then blow immediately after again to play on, I really hope bad refereeing will in no way affect matches in the future and the future of football for that matter.

I wonder what Fergie was thinking when he was watching the match in the stands last night. Hmmm.
