Yafoooo~ Finally it's recess week, 2nd day of the highly-anticipated recess week more like.

I think I'd much prefer the excitement/suspense/high during the wait building up to the recess week loads more than the recess week itself. Do you guys feel like this way sometimes? Like when you're waiting for something to happen, you feel all hyped up and stuff, then when it finally arrived, it all falls flat. Bland?

Haha yeah I think I'd much prefer the waiting game altogether.

Bazooker me! I've got an assignment due on the Monday/Tuesday after the recess week (6 more days!), and I've no idea how to even start with it, cus' the question's kinda broad, with no prompters whatsoever and I haven't even got the bloody book to do my research with. Haha the crazy thing is this Norton Anthlogy of English Literature Vol. 2 can only be found in the Popular bookstore in campus, I hope I won't be needing it! But it looks like I'm gonna have to buy it sometime soon for exams anyway, so why in the world am I still procrastinating? I DON'T KNOW EITHER! Someone please give me a good, hard kick and tell me it's time to wake up and smell the roses.

I think reason #1 is the price of that Mommasaurus of a book, it's thicker than a dictionary, pages 3 times thinner than a normal book, and it costs $67.50. I remember I only read like 30 pages out of the 1st volume (3000+ pages). That pretty much explains why I'm so giam siap when it comes to buying that book. Okay, maybe I'll find some comfort with the fact that I can sell those 2 Mommasauruses off after I'm all done with them, maybe to the Indian uncle in Bras Besar or Campus 2nd-hand book sales? Hmmm...worth a thought.

Hence my present modus operandi will be to:

  1. Go down to NTU to get that ******* book so I can get started with my assignment (I don't really know if I will even if I've gotten it, really)
  2. If I'm still not willing to buy, I shall hunt for it in libraries, if it's found in other libraries then maybe I shall make a reservation for it
  3. If option 2 fails, go to option 1
Yup. That'll be pretty much it. Besides that assignment, I'll have to survive another assignment due on 12th March (at a slightly more manageable level), and another one (Victorian Literature, think I'll be doing on Great Expectations) due on ummm...end of March I think.

Shucks. I have to also prepare for a recorded presentation due on the 9th or 10th week? Yikes. Thank God I'll have to speak for only like 5~7 minutes?

After surviving all these, I'll have to sacrifice billions of brain cells on my exam preparations since exams take centrestage come April. And then, it'll be THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MAY 3 MTHS LONG HOLIDAYS!!! Haha yeah! And I'll be working and making more Yusof Ishaks!

Haha I think I sound kinda cranky after scanning through all the shiat I've typed out so far. There's a pending date tomorrow with Veron, haha she wanna go check out that buffet again at Suntec (crabs!!! and a whole lotsa other stuff), $30++ I think but I don't know if I wanna go cus' I'll be blowing $30+++ on one day. Thursday, gonna meet Bobo for badminton (sweat it out!) then go for a sing-your-hearts-out session at KBox, dunno if there's the buffet included. Hmmm oh well, we'll see. Hence, wish me Irish luck for my assignments people! I hope I can come out of them all sane and unchanged!

=D In the meantime, just enjoy the moment fellas~ If you guys are in serious shiat like I am, then hurry and get it over and done with! Haha see lar, that's the price to pay for being a slacker. ('c',)

LIVERPOOL 2 - 1 barcelona

Can you even imagine that!?! We actually defeated the Spanish Giants! And its no tyco win, it's one helluva well-deserved win! Haha somehow I see the shadow of the Reds Army who came from behind to win AC Milan 4-3 (if I remembered correctly) in the last last Champs League! See! Liverpool still has that never-say-die attitude which is prolly what attracts me to it. I'M SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS!

I mean we're playing against BARCELONA! Playing against the likes of Messi, Saviola, Zambrotta (still hate Italians, they make better actors than footballers really, especially if you watched the previous World Cup final against France!), Ronaldinho (his control of the ball is like so magical it gets kinda freaky sometimes, he voodoo-ed the soccer ball!), Deco and a whole lot more sitting on the bench!

I still think Agger didn't deserve that freaking yellow lar, but I mean it's Barca's home ground, so when they started whining and the supporters start jeering, it'll be unlikely that the ref don't issue him a yellow.

And if Liverpool had defended like that against that embarrassing match against Arsenal (yeah you know which match I'm talking about, duncha?), we won't hafta kena teased by every Gooner fan we see. -_-" Haha but forget that, WE WON BARCA! How many teams can actually pull this off?

Deco broke the 0-0 record, and it was 1 up for Barca. Bellamy's diving header helped us break even just before the half-time whistle! Haha just when we settled for a 1-1 draw (against Barca that'll feel like a win already!), Riise smashed the ball into the top of the net! My freaking god! That prolly sealed Barca's fate! As much as I like Ronaldinho, Deco and Messi, I'm sorry but it's Liverpool's night! =)

Keep it coming Liverpool! Take back our Champions League title! YNWA~

Haha it almost felt like a Champions League finals. Almost.

=D

It's the second day of the Chinese New Year (YEAR OF THE PIG!)!

Haha first of all, I wanna wiah all my family, relatives, friends and everyone and anyone a Happy Piggy Wiggy Chinese New Year! Hope you guys can get whatever you wish/want, health, luck and happiness everywhere you go. For gals, youth and beauty always, haha and of course tao hua duo duo kai! =D

Chinese New Year Eve (:

The theme of this Chinese New Year seems to be: Last minute.

We basically did everything last minute, from shopping for clothes, to getting our house all geared up to welcome Cai Shen Ye.

Haha we actually got our second set of CNY clothes on the eve of Chinese New Year at Cheenatown. Cheenatown REALLY is a good place to shop, haha if you know where to dig out the treasures, that is. I got a pair of RED HEELS (*gasps* to that), a bottom. Then I got my second top on the first day of CNY.

Ultimate last minute.

Haha I love CNY eve! Got awesome excuse to stay up late. Like always, all families to fall in at my aunt's place for reunion dinner! Haa but this year, the food is SERIOUSLY lacking in quantity, but quality's still there. Haha as usual, mahjong room packd with the usual kakis, and the rest of us 'kids' had to settle with blackjack! My relatives took turns to be bankers, then whenever any cousin born in the Year of the Tiger plays as banker, Ron cannot play, cus' she'll really lose! Haha but blackjack's a darned fun and funny game, love it when Jon Jon's the banker, that's when I'll win lotsa $$$ even if I got shitty cards like 16 points! Yafooo~ In total I won like $12++ on blackjack! Then Jon Jon took out his prized Absolut Vodka collection, and I requested for the raspberry flavor to go with coke, at the beginning it tasted downright HORRIBLE cus' it tasted loads like cough syrup (YUCK). Haha but everyone decided it tasted pretty fab after getting a lil' more diluted. Yums to that!

Haha then all of us head back home to prepare for CNY! We got home before 12 midnight, Mee had to wash her hair before 12am (according to tradition), and all of us had to rush to change new bedsheets, do some last minute touch-ups all BEFORE 12am, boy oh boy I know what being Cinderella feels like already! Haha thank God we made it.

But...guess what? I actually spent the friggin' countdown in the SHOWER! -_-" I was pom-pom-ing away, then I heard the countdown (3...2...1..."GONG XI GONG XI ~~") from the TeeWee in the living room! Lol. What are the odds? You tell me. Haha but never mind, it feels awesome to wear new pajamas and watch CNY variety shows (no matter how stupid/boring/corny they may be).

...Shou Ye-ing in process....2:36am *knock-out*

1st Day of CNY:

I dreamt of my late maternal grandma! In my dream, I think I was in like First World Hotel's lobby, oddly enough it was like a Christmas setting, and my sis and I were walking, and then I spotted my aunts, and my grandma walked towards us smiling, and in sunglasses (like the old pair she used to have). I am conscious that I'm dreaming (like always), and I told myself to get up and tell MUMMY! Ahhh~ A sweet dream on the first day of CNY! (=

Off to Ah Gong's place! Haha at this time of the year, it turns into a mini gambling den. Haha everyone dressed to the nines, hahaha I feel sorely overdressed cus' I don't usually dress like that, haha but kinda got the hang of it. Played mahjong (usual kakis), then the rest of us kinda watched teewee, haha and we had a blast listening to songs by this 'up and coming' band called Countdown on J-Me's iPod! LOL. They can sing ANY kind of song, from Walt Disney, to hip hop, to rap, to JAZZ!

Then the mahjong table morphed into a BlackJack table by itself, and I won money again! Haha around $3 plus? haha forgot already, anyways my Ah Gong is very cute! =D

Then off to Da Yi Ma's place! Haha but we stopped by Cheers to get some drinks since Kenneth kindly told us his house ran out of drinks during the car ride. Weee~ and they ordered pizzas too, mama mia~!

Gambling Bonanza part 2~ ACTION! Haha since we got there first, we started a mahjong table for ladies, then the other mahjong room's for the PRO mahjong players (as in they play tai), haha and I won money again! $0,90! Haha but we decided not to count that in, (= Haha mahjong is the funniest game in the entire universe! (=

Then all of us had instant noodles with ABALONE SLICES in them, and sharks' fin soup! It's my first time ever, eating such decadent junk food man! Haha sheer heaven~ Watched two mahjong-related Hong Kong movies on cable, so nice! Haha like mahjong tutorial, learnt a tip or two from Andy Lau! Like how even when you get a good set of cards you may not necessarily win, conversely, if you get a lousy set of cards you can win if you wait it out and play the right cards at the right time, haha oh yeah and sometimes you have to sacrifice a very good win (e.g. DA SAN YUAN) for a basic win cus' your opponents might outlast you, small win=still win!

Mahjong is an ART.

Haha then Von booked Partyworld at Civic Centre the 10pm to 2am slot, Jon Jon drove us there. Cam-whored there! Haha send me the picsys! LOL. When we reached there, it really felt like we were in some nightclub in Geylang lar! And they had to blast Cao Ge's songs outside, felt like we were in the movies or something.

Once we were in! Finally let it all hang loose! Sang lotsa songs, shiok-a-roo! Partyworld's green tea is nice. They gave us a bowl of mandarin oranges for FREE, and two notebooks for FREE too. Haha so shagged at the end of it, then me uncle drove us back! Woohoo~ Total knock-out, hit the sack and zzzz...

CNY 2nd Day:

Mee went to the temple with me aunts in the morning to pray, then wen down to my Ah Ma's house. Had lotsa goodies too, oh my god need to exercise already! Haha but for now, who cares! =p My Ah Ma is really cute too! Haha woohoo ang bao harvest!

Then later we went off to the 'River Ang Bao' near the Esplanade, yeah I know, what a WTF name for a CNY fair right? Haha there were so many things to see there! I read my forecast for the pig year, my lucky colors are brown, orange and red. My lucky numbers are 1 and 9! Bought the candy popiah and dragon's beard candy, and mango with ice shavings! Yummylicious!

We bought this elephant pendant carved out of camel bone (I really hope the camels died naturally), haha and this stall is an African-themed one, so the stall holders are from Africa, they're really friendly people! Service industry, please learn a thing from two from them! =)

Back home. Drained!

Shall po some picsys soon! Everyone enjoy your days yeah! =)

Note: Sorry Vulture gang! I thought last Friday's cancelled cus' no confirmation, haha but I wanna see more of you guys! =,(

Thursday, February 15, 2007 , 10:17 PM

After sending off Cupid, very soon we're gonna welcome Ang Pow Festival! Haha happy happy, we're gonna have our reunion dinner on CNY eve at my aunt's place, haha all my cousins and their families are gonna be there, woohoo~ Must WIN MONEY! Haha this time round we're opting for a true blue Cantonese style reunion dinner, as in there'll be like a 5~6 course dinner instead of , and last I heard there's gonna be lotsa abalone, wild mushrooms, and since there's my uncle around there'll be wine/beer for sure! Haha can play and crap with me cousins already, I hope to see looney 'Cutest Cupid from Yishun' too! Arrgh! So excited! I love Chinese New Years!

Woohoo~ Okay so I shall list a number of MUST-DO traditions/things that we always follow on CNY eve:

  • REUNION DINNER! - mahjong, bun-luck (eng version? o.0!), PlayStation, FOOD!
  • 守睡 - My favorite part cus' finally have a good excuse to sleep late and not get nagged at!
  • Must wear NEW pajamas!
  • Then eat this vegetarian dish with rice (do merit deeds then have a better year ahead)
  • Welcome Cai Shen Ye to our house! Must turn on all the lights!
Pictures!!! :

So CUTE right! It'll pop up and down and sing GONG XI FA CAI! A bit noisy though =D

The pig can move like a pendulum! Haha I love this!

This is from the Wong Dai Xin Temple in Hong Kong! Lucky windmill!

My sister's first set of CNY clothes!

My first set of CNY clothes!

, 7:07 PM

Hana Kimi is on Ch U now!

So freaking clear and BIG, after visually tormented by the very pixelated and distorted videos on YouTube!

Haha *poof* gonna enjoy an hour of goggle box entertainment! Ja!

Dearest Cupid,

I love Mee.

I love my Dee.

I love my nutty Sis.

I love my tomodachis, past, present and future.

I love myself, too.

I love food=I love life.

I'm loving it~

Happy Valentine's Day <3

p.s: Please watch over these special people for me =]

With love,

Smelly

Haha yeah, with a grand total of 8 loves in my above post, today's Valentine's Day, I'm a firm believer that V-Day isn't just for lovers. It's for friends, family and relatives too. Hmmm as long as you spread the l.o.v.e, it doesn't really matter who, does it? Haha I can't bring myself to say "I Love You" to my Mee, maybe I'll just wish her Happy V-Day instead =D

Thanks to all me machis for all the love, expressed both tangibly and intangibly. Haha I love y'all, you guys know I do right? =D

Thank you for just being who you are! Holla holla holla~

Have a rockin' V-day fellas!

This song is so touching it gives me the goosebumps whenever I listen to it.

It's one of the insert songs in the Hana Yori Dango Season 2 drama series, "Flavor of Life" is another masterpiece by Japanese music powerhouse, Utada Hikaru.

I went crazy over instrumental and classical music in my upper sec days cus' they're a good source of relaxation, not that I'm very stressed up or anything, but it's really cool music despite mass misconception about such music. Recently, this piano piece has refreshed my liking for instrumental music again. Especially the piano, it's oh-so-fluid. This piano piece is "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" (NOT the NYJC Econs teacher please) performed by Ryuichi Sakomoto. Sit back and...relax~

Saturday, February 10, 2007 , 11:02 PM

Went shopping with the Roo on Thursday and halfway through this Environment lecture we figured it'd won't make much of a difference even if we stayed a lil' while longer, hence, we kinda left like half an hour earlier? Haha it was a non-stop 3 hr lecture! Need lotsa caffeine boost and motivation to stay on, okay!

On Thursday, we finally went to Cheenatown! We wanna go there to soak up the CNY atmosphere (Cheenatown is the BEST when it comes to CNY!!!), get my very FIRST set of CNY clothes, Roo to get her 2nd set of CNY clothes, get some CNY goodies and decorations. Haha I love the stuff there, things are cheap and one-of-a-kind, haha if you look hard enough, you can find this shopping place recently refurbished that's a lil' Bugis Village-ish, haha thanks for Roo for finding out about that place! The shops there sell one-of-a-kind pieces, imported from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea etc, so chances of you bumping into a similarly dressed person is 0.0000000001%.

Haha we wanted to meet at 3pm since I got off earlier, but we met the original time 3.30pm instead. Haha the place was like a labryinth! Put two street idiots in a labryinth? Uh uh that spells trouble! Haha we couldn't remember if we'd been to this particular bend or shop, but we kinda got around this problem somehow. AND I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST SET IF CNY CLOTHES! Haha it's kinda unlike my usual style, but hey I tried it out and it did feel kinda comfy, haha I shall po some pics for you guys, just make sure you aren't eating/drinking anything, it might just ruin your PCs or lappies! Don't say I didn't warn you~

Haha Roo wanted to get this pig family (they can move!!!) which is so darned CUTE! Haha but the aunty was selling it for $8.80 lar, so ex! But hey we got Ong Lais that we can hang at home, and I got this pig moving CNY deco. Haha ahhh I'm gonna turn our house into mini Cheenatown! I likeee! CNY songs really make us feel happier! Haha but when we got to Chinatown Point, there was this particular CNY song that made us feel emo-ish. =D

Weeee~

Then on Friday we went off to IMM, and Roo got another set! So now she has 2 sets, a bottom and all she needs is a top! Haha oh man oh man, I'm panicking now because I don't seem to be panicking that CNY's around the corner! Haha I'm glad Roo got the purple dress(?), last piece and there was this pushcart that's selling it for $59.90! Luckily we went on to check out another pushcarts, and the lady actually got the price down to $40+, necklace included, haha and as seen in the photo, worn by MAKIYO! Haha Roo butt or no butt, it'll still look great lar, cus'.....it's purple =D

Double Weeeeee~

MET UP WITH THE VULTURE GANG (FULL FORCE) TODAY!!! Haha was late cus' I had tuition, then I played with Carina then went home, COOKIES! Haha finally seen Kan Ee after soooooooo long! We went around Taka cam-whoring, which was all in good fun! We did all kinda crappy poses in all sorts of crapy places, Taka Carpark's pretty good for taking pictures, though random people will walk in and practically STARE at us like this ---> O_O! So fun lar! I WANT PICSIES PLEASE PEOPLE! Haha thanks to Ah Shing, I'll have a 'nice' display picture!

We went to Din Tai Fung@ Paragon for dinner! The fried rice and Xiao Lao Baos are a MUST-TRY! My tummy's grumbling at the thought of it T_T The only solution is to get back there and have them AGAIN! Haha DTF is voted by The New York Times as the Top 10 restaurants in the world. Ahhhhh~ Food heaven~ Haha but we felt a lil' stressed eating there lar, especially seeing the chefs rushing through batches and batches of Xiao Long Baos and other heavenly dishes, the waiters were also rushing all around lor, so we felt a lil' gan cheong, the fact that the food was so freakoliciously yummy isn't helping the situation also! Haha OMG OMG! I must bring my family there sometime! It's more than value for money!!!

Then we went to look for SpaghettiShoeaholic's shoes and clothes. Haha I think shoes are like the hardest things to buy! Finally, SpaghettiChoeaholic found a tube top in Hula & Co., haha thanks to Shimmy's acute sense of fashion! LOL. Cus' the yellow one really looks like what those Malay aunties will wear when they're pregnant. A lil' oldish. Kan Ee gave us very cute notebooks! And I don't think I'll bear to write anything on it, so I noted down today's date on the very first page instead.

Haha next Friday!!! =D More reunions to come!

Ahhhh~ Smelly Melly loves her reunions! <3

Wednesday, February 07, 2007 , 8:56 PM

Haha I did this post so that my previous Ong-Lai post won't be so visible. LOL. Well, anyways a few nights ago I was checking out this new map called Shanghai on MapleSea and there was this CUTE monster in here that looks dubiously like Precious or Dickson (two of the Lions)! Haha see for yourself!

, 9:09 AM

Aargh! Been having nasty coughing fits which begun dubiously last Sunday, I hate it when I get coughs! T_T I think I coughed too hard yesterday, my eyeballs felt like they were gonna pop out of their sockets! And I got a coughing headache as well. I don't get it, I've recovered from my sore throat but now, I've gotta handle this bad, bad cough. Thing is, I hate medicine! Eew eew eew~

Wooo~ Soccer violence seems to be in the news recently, first was Italy, then yesterday was Brazil. Hmmm, maybe they got inspired after watching the Thais' (decided to be a lil' more civil to them) walk-out during the AFC Finals 1st Leg? Hahaha oh well, it's pretty cool that soccer is the main issue brought up in the Italian parliament! But it's ugly all the same, hate it when violence, politics taint the beautiful game, not that I'd mind a lil' drama off the pitch, but that's beside the point!

Haha for one of my mods I'm gonna have a presentation, it's a communications mod, and I've been slotted into a group of strangers, haha as in I haven't heard of their names, have never met them, so I'll prolly drop them a mail for group discussion and meet Veron on Thursday to discuss about it! Crikes! Haha

Oh well~ medicine time! u_u

LIONS WON!!!! WE BROUGHT BACK

THE CUP AGAIN!

WE WON!

AH GUAS LOST! THEY DESERVE IT,

NO SPORTSMANSHIP PEOPLE GOD

OSO WON'T BLESS YOU!

SO FREAKING HAPPY NOW!

Even though I agree that our defence, our midfield are much weaker than Thailand's, fact is our players have so much more integrity as a player than all of the Thais put together. I mean anyone with eyes can see that the Ah Guas are playacting most if bot all the time, touch them and they topple and roll all over the place on cue like bowling pins. Heck it! They should go to Hollywood or sign up as stuntsman lar! And the referee (Jimmy) is trying to get attention is it? Cus' he actually gave some pretty hilarious yellow cards throughout the very wired up match, like he gave a yellow to Lionel for time-wasting, HELLO! He picked up a groin injury earlier can't he take a few more seconds for the kick? It's gonna end anyway so what difference does it make lar? Another yellow is funnier and more bizarre, he gave a yellow to Indra Shadan who was ON THE BENCH, he was laughing at Thonglao or something and Thonglao WHINED to the ref and the ref gave him a yellow. You tell me where in the world does a ref issue yellow to subs lar!?!

That stupid Thonglao headbutt our player leh! Zidane headbutt and got a straight red by the ref, but the ref decided to be blind for that split second lar! Ah Guas can win the SORE LOSERS cum BEST ACTORS AWARDS already lar!

Haha but AWESOME performance by Noh (for a moment when our defence faltered and Lionel Lewis gave way, Noh was there to kick it away skyward!), he's like John Terry lar, 2nd goalkeeper! Haha oh and Khairul Amri's the hero of the day when he equalised in that match and took us to win 3-2 on aggregate! Haha stupid thais boo-ed us so what? We don't give a damn about all you sore losers, chickens and ah guas! Haha and during the prize-giving ceremony, I thought I spotted a transvetite! Haha okay maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me =p

Haha happy happy day today! We painted our house ( My sis and I!!) minty green, haha so it feels very fresh suddenly, and we position our beds and this cupboard like NS bunk style, haha very neat, and I got my Lions poster at the back of my bed! Shall post some pics tomo! Haha oh and Darren won Project SuperStar, haha but that's not the main thing, thing is LIONS WON! ROARRRRR!!!!! OLE OLE OLE OLE~~ OLE~ OLE~ =D

Saturday, February 03, 2007 , 5:35 PM

Had my 2nd week of tuition today! Haha Carina is a smart and sweet kid! She's studying in St. Theresa's, she's primary 5, she's smart and everything but when it comes to Chinese...Haha her Mum told me she hates/seldom speaks Chinese, so I did get her to speak Chinese for 1 whole hour today! Haha that's our first step towards improvement already! Haha I told her during the 1 hr of Chinese tuition, we'll play a game, so whoevers speaks English will be the loser, and if she speaks Chinese all through the 1 hr I'll give her a present next week! Hehe I didn't tell her what the present is! =p Okay I told her if she wanna sing S.H.E.'s songs (she's a S.H.E fanatic, she went for the recent concert lor!) then she must master the language first. Haha so far, she's taking the bait. =D

I got her to write a 50-word composition about the concert, since she has difficulty writing chinese compos I gave her something that she'd like to write about during our 1st week of tuition, then gradually build up on it when she's more and more comfortable with writing. Haha hope it works, so far it does, cus' she's written 100 words instead of 50 and even has a proverb 'jin jin you wei' which we've just learnt last week! =D

She's so sweet, she gave me an exercise book to write my profile in, and after tuition she even brought me to see her dog, Shadow's (Shadow's a 2mth old Golden Retriever! VERY CUUUTEE!!!) friends (also dogs, a Chi Wa Wa and a Daschund) named JoJo and Jewel. Haha Her house is like a condo blended with semi-detached, the buildings are all semi-D style with condo facilities which I think is a pretty darn good concept, haha shall see if I can take photos of her neighborhood next week! And maybe get her and Shadow to take a pic with me too! ;)

Weee~* Just finished 3 and 1/4 tins of pineapple tarts! Haha I think we're getting pro at this man. It's pretty fun! I was in charge of the pineapple topping, so all I had to do was to pluck out some pineapple paste and roll them into balls and then stuff it on top of the pastry. Haha ended up with sicky fingers though, cleanliness isn't the issue here, it's hygiene! To prevent us from dozing off, we had a hot cuppa coffee to keep us refreshed for MORE ong-lai tarts! =D

It isn't all about the Ong-Lai!
*Behind every yummy ong-lai tart, are many many dirty fingers =D*
The Art of Baking Ong-Lai Tarts~*

Had a happy, happy day today! I love the fact that I'm working and earning extra bucks with my own two hands, literally, haha sense of satisfaction I guess~ =) OMG Have I caught the teaching bug? o.0!

Thursday, February 01, 2007 , 9:23 AM

Remember I told you guys how my neighbors were a bunch of din-ners (creates a hell lot of noise)? Well, apparently I made a HUGE mistake and blamed the wrong people! T_T Sorry neighbors! =)

I think those workers outside who're attempting to drill a hole through my corridor come from Thailand, it's their way of getting back at us for defeating them 2-1 yesterday at the AFC Finals 1st Leg! Grrrrr~ It's only 8+ in the morning and I gotta put up with MAJOR drilling, and it's like really close by and there are like 2-3 drills (one from upstairs) going at one time. CAN I HAVE SOME PEACE AND QUIET IN HERE!?!?! Grrrrr~ Whatever they're doing, I really don't want it anymore, yeah no nice tiles, no nice lifts for me thanks, if I'd to put up with all these shiat I'd gladly take the stairs, thank you very much.

Okay, I've plugged my ears with tissue paper and...it doesn't seem to be working -_-" Moving along to the AFC Finals 1st Leg last night!

On the way to the
National Stadium~

Full House again! Met up with Bobo first to book seats for Roo and Yu, on the way we ta-paoed Chup Choy Fun (mixed rice) and drinks (in plastic packets), weee~ and we're all set for the long walk to the National Stadium (kinda nostalgic now that I realised that's gonna be our last walk there since it's gonna be torn down to make way for a whole new Sports Hub). Along the way, we met some very enterprising people, they were selling Ramly Burgers (RAMLY LEH!!!), packets of nasi lemak and curry puffs (the flat version, dunno what you call them) drizzled with a generous serving of chili sauce (ooh lala~ I love anything with chili!). Haha in the end, I didn't get any -_-" cus' naive me actually thought that a packet of mixed rice would suffice!

We saw 4 riot police buses (armored buses) outside the stadium! Super cool!

Weeee~ Reached the 32B entrance! Haha there were many people at that area already, but lucky us! We got back the same seats that we had during the Semis 2nd Leg against Malaysia! GOOD VIEW! Haha I spotted the Lion head (so cuuuute!!!), the drums and then a little while after we finished our dinner, SHEIKH HAIKEL came to the match too!!! You know Sheikh Haikel, the bulky guy with the dreadlocks, quirky specs and husband to Annabelle Francis, the same guy who sang the 'Lar Song', one of the best rappers in Singapore. Haha so cool!!! Wanted to take pictures with the Lion and Haikel but...we were too busy grabbing free clappers/floats that the people were gicing out.

Haha the people just threw them into the crowds and everyone would grab them, kinda fun really. Lol *catch* finally got mine, so cute the clappers, quite an invention! All you have to do is poke this straw (provided) into the clapper and blow into it and *poof* it became coco crunch! Haha no lar, then it's inflated and you can start making hell lot of noise with two balloon clappers! Haha everyone was behaving like kids lar, banging the clappers, but it was all in good fun. But those clappers get lao hong very easily -_-"

Ooh yeah! I spotted more Liverpool jerseys (incl. the imitation ones) than Man U's!!! Haha and I think that our Malay friends can style their hair better, so cool, some of them dress up in skinnies (I mean the guys, girls wear skinnies no big deal) and sneakers with shorter version of Paul Twohill's hair, very GreenDayish!!! I like~ Haha maybe next time I'll go tell the hairdresser I wanna cut Paul's hair! XD

ASEAN Football Championship Finals 1st Leg:

LIONS vs CHICKENS

Roo and Yu finally came, and Roo told us that one of her coursemates is SUBRAMANI'S SISTER!!! Super cool lar! I want Mani's autographed jersey! Roo help me get!!! Then I let you sing to me all you want, hahaha. Then when the Thais came on to warm up we boo-ed like crazy (booing proved to be difficult lar! Don't believe you try dragging the BOOOoooo) Haha our national anthem came on and Bobo and I raised the national flag, aargh I feel so patriotic I think I can go to war for Singapore anytime, haha it's like 983978748648 times better than NDP!!!

Kick-off time~

We got off on a sluggish start, shitty Thais kept time-wasting, like how their Kitty goalkeeper his name's Kittisak, which translates to Kitty sucks) takes his stroll to kick the freaking ball! Shitty Thais kept falling all over the place at the slightest tackle lar, they should go be stuntmen lar. Their tackles were really forceful and at times, brutal, but the *Referee Kayu* M'sian referee so damn kayu lar, so lenient to them! Wanna get back at us for beating M'sia is it!?!

We created quite a few chances but they just somehow didn't work out thanks to a tight Thai defense. But alas at the 17" minute Alam Shah brought us to a lead!!! So now Shah bagged 10 goals in the AFC tournament so far! Haha we want more more more SHAH! =D

For me, we had the upper hand in the 1st half, it was really close but we created more chances. In the second half, shitty Thais equalised when our defense gave way (what a blinding mistake the defenders made lar!) so all that shitty Thai had to do was walk the ball into OUR net, so after that goal some of the fans at the bottom raised the 'DEFEND' banner and we shouted "Defend! Defend! Defend!" whenever the Thais pressed on to our penalty box. The Thais were more aggressive at the 2nd half, and the Lions were a whole lot more lucid, not very alert, very passive, and they kept passing back, keep wasting free kicks with lotsa pattern but no kick. Haha nonetheless we still cheered them on! Shitty Thai fans at one point shouted dunno what and all of us stood up and shouted whatever vulgarities and gestured at them, haha told them to shut the hell up. =x

It was getting quite scary at this point, cus' another goal to shitty Thais seem inevitable with their forceful attacks, Lionel was kept pretty busy, nah uh not a good sight. Thank God he was on form! Then came the controversial moment! One of the shitty Thais brought down Alam Shah, and suddenly, all the shitty Thais came off the pitch, even KittySucks! So only Lions were left on the pitch lar! And the shitty Thais were too chicken/cowardly to take the penalty, they simply refused to step back onto the pitch lar. How can like that one lar, no sportsmanship! Referee's decision be it good or bad, is FINAL, didn't they learn this simple rule in football academy? -_-" Chickens (Thai) actually brought the game to a standstill for 15 minutes, heck it, if it was EPL they'd been slapped with a heavy fine man, disqualify the Chickens lar! Freaking losers, either way also have to take penalty, kao I think they just wanna break our momentum man! Haha so we for 15 minutes all the fans in the stadium were on their feet shouting "coward", "chicken", "go home", "referee kayu", "butoh" (we shouted this bad word again at the M'sian ref whenever we think he kayu-ed us) at the chickens who still refused to get their asses on the pitch! That's so Ah Gua-ish lar!

So, for 15 mins we ignored them, the Lions were having a good time warming up, stretching on the pitch, drinking water (thanks to the Chickens for giving us time to recharge =D) while the Chickens were outside the pitch. We had a good time on the stands too, cus' we whiled away time by scolding them and playing Kallang Wave! Haha so fun, people kept trying to throw paper aeroplanes into the pitch but all the planes kept mayday-ing, all nosedive into some poor, unexpecting bloke down the stands. Haha so cute lar.

FINALLY! Chickens decided to stop throwing their Ah Gua tantrums and stepped back into the pitch, and KittySucks got ready for the penalty, Mustaffic stepped in front to take the spot kick, if you ask me, he looked all nervy and not very confident, so yeah we were a tad worried he's gonna blow it. But boy oh boy, he took the spot kick a la Luis Figo style, you know the running on tip-toes (like how Flintstone plays bowling) towards the ball, KittySucks thought he just run and pumped the ball in so he actually anticipated and jumped off his spot, and Mustaffic responded by pumping the ball into the top right corner of the net!!! Haha 2-1 to LIONS!!!

In the final 10 minutes (it actually extended pretty late thanks to Ah Gua Chickens!), Thailand was so desperate for goal, but too bad, they didn't get it~ Haha ooh lala~ So it was ole ole ole~ all around the stadium, the LIONS came running towards our stand in a row and cheered for us! Haha shitty Thais went to thank the few supporters they have in the stadium. Haha then the police actually barred the Thai fans from exiting the stadium, I think they wanted us to clear off first, to prevent a very likely riot! Thai fans kept taunting us in the other stand lar! Freaking Ah Guas! Ahhhh~ outside the stadium, the melodious victory song ole ole ole~ boomed everywhere, people were still pi pi pi pi pi pi pi pi BUTOH-ing~

The sea of red butoh-ing! Haha touching sight, I thought this kinda mob appears only in the EPL!

Haha damn fun, and I feel patriotic again! Haha we took pics of the stadium, this very stadium that we've watched 3 Tiger Cups (incl this) in, this same stadium that holds many fond memories for the young and old alike, which is gonna make way for the new Sports Hub. I'm so gonna miss it, and I believe many others would too.

Haha oh yeah after the match right, this guy sitting in front of us distributed Hello Panda biscuits, I goped 2 packets, then I saw him again when we alighted at Yishun, sotong me then realised that he's my neighbor (in block 200+)!!! I saw him many times before when I went to school in NYJC, haha he's also from NY lar! So damn coincidental! *_*

Ahhhh~ Stop emo-ing! Haha too bad they wasn't any riots, I was hoping to watch a good fight from a safe distance, haha I only dare to scold them but truth is, I don't dare to fight with shitty Thais~ Lol. But I realised the implications of this controversy, Lions are gonna get it from Thai fans in the 2nd Leg, and with the recent bombings going on in "Land of the Thousand Smiles" (Land of the Thousand Chickens more like), safety would be a key problem for the Lions, worse thing is I don't know if any of our fans would be there to render some support cus' Thai fans are a rowdy bunch man. Pray hard for the Lions during the 2nd Leg! And I swear if they try anything funny at all when we go to Thailand for 2nd Leg, I'm so gonna tear the bloody Golden Mile Complex (2nd Thai embassy) down man!

Please everyone, pray for our Lions' safety and victory!

I seriously hope the AFC committee can consider holding the AFC Finals 2nd Leg in a neutral and safer country (Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam if not in Singapore). Bombings in Thailand is one major concern!

Stand tall like this floodlight LIONS! We'll be stand by you guys in Thailand! You'll Never Walk Alone!
