★ Jam. Haircut. Liverpool. Exchange. Possible weekend job? Hmmm ★

Told you guys earlier that Jam's gonna perform in the annual Golden Horse Awards right right?

Now he's gonna take it one step further by challenging all 4 songs nominated for Best Movie Song in its original key, and these 4 songs are 不能說的.秘密 (originally sung by Jay Chou) from the movie of the same name,小茉莉 (originally sung by Rainie Yang Chen Ling) from the movie 刺青, 天堂口 (originally sung by Shu Qi) from the movie of the same name and 小情歌 (originally sung by Soda Green) from the movie 六號出口. Totally love his never-say-die attitude! :D

Here's some news extract (28th Nov 2007) from Yahoo! news, pictures courtesy of Taiwan's Liberty Times:

I SO WANNA WATCH THE GOLDEN HORSE AWARDS! STARHUB IF YOU'RE READING THIS RIGHT NOW PLEASE GRANT MY CHRISTMAS WISH PRETTY PLEASE! :)

Hehe back to Smelly. Smelly's got a haircut yesterday along with Yu and Roo at Heatwave (Marina Square). :D Finally chopped off my Lion's mane! Woolala~ Let's hope it last. :P

And finally exchanged for the original top today. :DD If I knew it's gonna be so easy. :p Lucky the lady recognised me, I barely finished my line when she said "Oh sorry sorry I didn't realise there's a long-sleeved one for this design..sorry sorry!" and proceeded to get it changed for me. Hehe

Liverpool's gonna play 3am tomorrow morning against Porto in the Champions League qualifiers, it's a do or die situation, so we gotta win EVERY SINGLE match in order to enter Euro 08. Fingers crossed. I'm with Rafa! Americans and soccer just don't go hand-in-hand man, seriously. Oops =x

Finally, Roo, Yu and I have decided to try searching for weekend jobs starting on Monday. XD Otherwise I'm gonna sell MY HAND-MADE cupcakes! Mm mmm yummy yum yum, eh? :p

Free Pizza. Shopping. No Choya. Cream Puffs T_T ★

Went down to AMK Hub earlier with Nut, main purpose is to redeem the free regular pan pizza. :D
Reached there and headed straight for the basement to get some snacks. Got this fried cheese that Nut recommended (and raved about), hmm it's okay I guess, just didn't quite like the powdery texture. Then Nut wanted some yakitori, and I got cheated by the aunty! The biggest piece of meat on a skewer caught my eye and I asked the aunty what it was, she told me it's salmon. And it costs only $1.10 for a big slab of salmon (or so I thought). Chewed on it and I thought I was chewing a rubber tyre, it was really really tough and when I peeked into it the meat was whitish, nah uh definitely NOT salmon. T_T Should've gotten the yakitori instead.

Shopped around and I'm pretty happy with my purchases. :D
By the time we were done, my feet were screaming bloody murder.
Haha ended the day by redeeming the pizza, good ole' Hawaiian always delivers. But honestly one regular pan is barely enough for one person!!

I'm craving for cream puffs right now! D:

Really feel like kicking myself for not getting one of those (maybe 2, 3, 4?) yummylicious Oreo Donuts!!! :( Didn't get Choya either! :((

★ England. Fire Truck. Exams. MSN. Genting. Not. :D ★

It's no longer news that England crashed out of their Euro 2008 campaign after losing 3-2 to Croatia. I absolutely cannot believe it. Just last year we were talking about going out to bars for soccer matches to support the 3 lions. Now? Busted! McClaren and assistant manager Venables are given the sack. Well, at least Steve McClaren's leaving with a hefty compensation of £2.5 million (to settle the 2.5 years left in his contract) and holding the record for shortest time ever to helm the England team with 17 months. Somebody save the football! Tsk. Oh wells, at least I still get to catch Euro 2008 without having to deal with potential melodrama and frustration in case we crash out in the qualifying rounds by then. Talk about confidence, eh? Disappointed but hasta la vista England!

Kinda sorry for Mikey. Seriously, when you think Michael Owen, you think injury. After coming back from a loooong recuperation period, I thought at least he gets to play in Euro 2008. Look what we have now? Mikey's picked up an injury (yeah I know, lots of you out there must be rolling your eyes and going 'Again!?!') and NOT make it into the Euro. If one guys's gonna whine about how life sucks and stuff, it's gotta be Mikey man. Get well soon! (yet again). Honestly, I don't know how much football is there left in him, getting injured repeatedly like that's really detrimental to his career and future. But we wish the best for you Mikey, so just focus on recovering and...maybe pick up some tips on how NOT to get knocked about too badly? Strikers don't have it all good.

Mum just yelled "Fire engine downstairs!" We ran to the window and we got kinda high watching the firemen downstairs in full battle gear walking around looking kinda lost, talking to each other and looking at our block. I thought someone was attempting suicide or something cus' the folks in the opposite block and at the carpark kept looking upwards. Dang. For a second I was hoping for something to happen, like a fire or something. Lol. Yeah don't we all crave a lil' excitement once in awhile?

After pacing around, some running here and there, carrying a fire extinguisher around...they packed their stuff and got back into the fire truck. -_-" Another false alarm!? Then the fire engine tried to reverse and get out of the carpark, but the problem is...there's this lil' triangular island in the middle which makes it a LOT trickier for the driver to manoeuvre a bulky vehicle outta there. So, we stood at the window watching this team of firefighters trying to get out the carpark and having a really good laugh. All this lasted for a good 15 minutes. Lol. Imagine looking all swanky and cool in their firefighter uniforms and acting like one of those we-are-so-in-control firefighters (ala Ladder 49), they had to put up with this shit after the entire hiatus. Lol heartland comedy at its best baby!

My sis and I are gonna be home alone all thanks to Genting. Mum's packing her 'luggage', will be leaving tomorrow night. Trying to brainwash my sis into chipping in some money for Choya or some Vodka maybe? We're prolly going down to AMK Hub just to collect ONE FREE regular pizza. This Pizza Hut voucher's been lying around the house for God knows how long, so we finally decided to get it done. Woolala~ Pizza's for tomo.

I think I need to get an organiser really soon. December's a-hollering, plans, plans, plans made, plans waiting to be made. I think my $$$'s gonna go into the red come December. My wallet's gonna sing "Tis' the season to be empty~ Falalalala~ Lalalala~" God. Birthdays, Christmas celebrations, New Year celebrations, long overdue meet-ups, boozing etc etc...gah someone drop me some $$$ in the mail please! :)

On a lighter note, Smelly Melly's gonna go for a haircut at Heatwave with Roo and Yu. What hairstyle should I go for this time? Hmm...suggestions, anybody? :DD

My record for longest MSN conversation so far is with...*drum roll* Ah Shing!
Haha we were actually at it from 3pm to 1am, from Wu Zun to Jam (for me!) and Yoga (for Ah Shing!) to laughing at Yang Zong Wei to mugging woes to NS (*sniggers*) to holiday plans to birthday celebrations, we got them all covered while mugging trying to mug. o_0! 10 hours. If only we get paid for MSN-ing our friends, huh! :DDD

Jam Hsiao's gonna attend the 44th annual Golden Horse Awards Ceremony as a guest performer! Woohooo~! Hahaha super super super happy now! XD
The 44th annual Golden Horse Awards is gonna be held on 8th December at the Taipei Arena (more commonly known as 台北小巨蛋) .

Jam will be performing 4 songs lasting 5-6 minutes. I think it'll most probably be a medley of nominated songs from like Jay Chou's "Secret" ("不能說的秘密") or classic songs from previous winning movies. I'm so excited!!!
Really hope there's gonna be a live telecast, hmm I wouldn't mind a delayed telecast, I'd be more than contented to hear him sing. :DD

Wonder who's he gonna walk down the red carpet with! Wonder who's the hosts for this prestigious event! Woohoo~ One thing's for sure, I'm gonna watch it!!! :DDD

Exam Period = Weight Gain

A Universal fact. Period. :)
Swimming through wads of notes is pretty daunting especially when you've been playing around for most of the semester. =x Oops.
Re-reading the slides for the 1st time, this is gonna be my first and a half at an in-depth reading of my slides and readings. Wish me luck! xu_ux *fingers crossed*

Gotta hit the badminton court more often after the exams!
Been snacking on stuff while mugging.
Preserved haw slices, dark chocolate, fruits, yogurt, juices, cookies and all kindsa tidbits.

Added donuts to the list today. Gluttony's in my blood I tell you. =/
Was chatting with Shing just now, both of us happen to be having tea while mugging. Having tea while mugging! Sounds very leisurely, isn't it? Haha gotta recommend Lipton's Hirameki Tea to you muggers out there! Saw the TV commercial a few months back, and the storyboard goes like this: 2 girls in the first scene, girl A gives girl B a puzzle, in the 2nd scene girl B was racking her brains for an answer, then girl A lets her drink some tea and she got the answer!
So, while mugging and getting through some pretty abstract concepts, I drank some Hirameki and I'm still waiting for that eureka Hirameki moment. I can almost feel it comin' now. U_U

Okay, gonna share a photo of me donuts me fellow muggers out there. I'm such a chum, eh? :D

1st row from left: Milk chocolate with white choco shavings on top, durian (don't know about the coloring =/), blueberry with icing on top

2nd row from lef
t: Mocha, Oreo cookies topping (MY FAV!!! SHIOK! XP), white choco with a light citric tang to it (refreshing!)

I wanna watch Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
! Here's the synopsis from Yahoo!Movies:

"Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy store in the world. In fact, it's a magic toy store and everything in it comes to life--including the store itself. The emporium asks only one thing of its customers--you must believe it to see it."

Isn't that an amazing plot!?! Haha pity it's released so early, thought it'd make a really awesome Christmas movie. Saw the trailer and it's kinda Charlie and the Chocolate Factory meet Nanny McPhee. Would really be interesting to see a darker version from Tim Burton, and yes with Johnny Depp in it. XD

Trailer's right...here =):

Exam fever's running reaally high now. Kinda nervy. Get this over and done with, get this over and done with. Anyways~ Yeap. Exam fever hasn't affected my brain..yet, I hope.

Have you guys ever eaten a piranha? Y'know, piranhas are these carnivorous fishes that's most popularised (stereotyped) as the people eating fish species featured in many an adventurous film like Indiana Jones (if I said I watched the Indiana Jones back when I was a kid, you can agar agar gauge how old am I, say Indiana Jones to a kid these days and you're gonna draw blanks man). Just look at the photos below, it's a piranha I swear!

Oh my god. I think the exam fever HAS gotten to me after all. Haha but just look at its teeth! Doesn't it make you go o_0!?! After much probing (with a pink, melanin chopstick), my sis and I concluded it had very clean, sharp, tough teeth. It's kinda cool, eh? Can't stop fiddling with its teeth. -_-" Scientists say that we can easily tell/classify living things into carnivores, herbivores and omnivores simply by looking at its teeth. Judging from the piranha's (I'm dead sure it's a piranha) set of pearly whites, it is CARNIVOROUS! So, I was picturing what it'd eaten while it's still alive and it totally ruined my appetite man.

While mugging for exams (haven't done much mugging, as ashamed as I am to confess that lil' detail), I got a lil' sugar rush from a hefty dosage of peppermint ice-cream (oh yeah, NEVER buy King's ice-cream if you want good quality ice-cream, these stuff melt really fast, like less than 5 minutes outta the freezer). It's pretty good for a fast-eater like me, but if you're a slow-eater, then it's gonna become all syrupy by the time you're 1/4 your way through all that ice-cream.

While mugging for exams, I've been listening to Jam Hsiao's music on loop. Ahhh~ Nothing like a lil' morale booster, eh? Music always works. Always does. :) Hurrah to music. I'm gonna officially start counting down to the release of his debut album after getting rid of the exams. :) Hurrah to that too. Jam Hsiao's gonna be the guest star in A-Mei's concert in Taipei's 小巨蛋 come 23rd December. Isn't that neat? He's gotta be the first Taiwanese artiste to ever take part in a concert in 小巨蛋 even before he's signed his first recording deal/even before he's cut his own album! o_0! Hurrah hurrah to that baby!

Caught this docu-series about the Universe, it's really, really cool to get a teensy weensy bit of knowledge on how the Universe came to be (supposedly) what it is today. One of the guests (some big shot from some ivy league university in the U.S) said "Man has been looking for an answer to our beginning, and where we came from, cus' if we don't, we don't know who we are", this is so true, isn't it? Self-identity. Don't we all look to self-identity every now and then when we feel lost at some point of time? I guess each and every one of us are kinda like puzzle pieces, when a puzzle piece's isolated it doesn't serve any purpose, but when you put them together, the lil' puzzle piece combines with the rest to give the big picture. Every one of us craves for a sense of belonging, to belong to a group, to be part of something, and when the entire puzzle falls apart, it's back to square one again. Fortunately, when a puzzle crumbles it never falls apart entirely, certain pieces remain firmly attached to each other. To that special someone who's recovering from a bad rut right now, even if you've broken apart from that particular puzzle piece, you aren't alone, cus' you still have the surviving, strongly bonded pieces, yeah? ;) You're as strong as a bonsai, girl! Bonsai, banzai! Haha XD

Well, the bottomline is, all of us are part of the big picture, even though we don't often have a bird's eye view of this big picture. Give it some time and when all puzzle pieces are finally in place and when everything naturally falls into place...that'll be your nirvana moment. X)

Lol. I know I sounded really abstract in the last 2 paragraphs but it sounded logical when I processed it in my brain. Haha I guess it's another case of verbal diarrhea, eh? ;p

Liverpool (81" Torres, 85" Gerrard) 2-0 Fulham

Woohoo! We didn't end up in a draw! We won 2-0! Haha and it's Rafa's 200th appearance as our manager, congrats to Rafa, here's wishing him many more victories to come! XD It's really surprising that Rafa didn't do any tinkering with the squad this time.

Fulham kicks off the first half, and Murphy makes an early strike 17 seconds into the game, Reina saves it effortlessly. Fulham's playing long balls into our half. The lads in Fulham are really well-built, very stout and most of them look really rugged. Haha I think Kuqi looks like a lumberjack. XP Crouch always has these little nifty touches, great movement, he isn't just an aerial threat y'know! But it's really hilarious when he does stepovers, well-executed but hilarious. =D Shall not do a minute by minute report on tonight's match since it's pretty even, especially in the first half, we dominated the game but struggled to break through Fulham's defense.

Sami Hyypia nearly gave us the lead at the 6" and 8". Haha he shows potential for a striker, Rafa are you taking this down? Ex-Liverpool lad Danny Murphy almost gave Fulham the lead a couple of times in the first half. I don't know but at the pace Fulham's playing, they might not last very long, it's gonna show in the 2nd half, hmm...we'll see. Minutes to half time, a free kick's awarded to Liverpool after Murphy's foul on Aurelio. Aurelio finds Crouch lurking in the box, Crouch heads from the right but it bounces off the crossbar. Saw many near goal attempts in the 2nd half, we had 13 goal attempts by the 60" compared to Fulham's 4.

Rafa makes a switch at the 62" with Babel coming on for Riise, so now we have Babel on the right and Benayoun on the left. Rafa makes a switch again at the 70", Torres came on for Voronin. Woohoo a Crouch-Torres pairing, aerial attack! Lucas's on for Mascherano at the 80". Pressure's on Torres to break the deadlock (break the recent spate of draws).

Finally at the 81" Torres puts us on the scoreboard after a nice pump towards Fulham's end by Reina, Torres runs down the right flank and shoots the ball through the defender's legs and into the back of the net. Woohoo~ That was an awesome goal laa! For once I'll admit that quality comes with quantity. :D

Move over C.Ronaldo, cus' El Nino's here ;)

Haha and that's why Rafa splashed big bucks for the 23 year old, quoting the commentator "he makes the difference between wins and draws", that's a spot-on description for El Nino. =DDD 83" Babel passes the ball to Crouch and he makes a fantastic run down the middle towards goal but is brought down by Fulham's no. 3, the replay shows him tapping at Crouchy's ankle. Many people didn't seem to agree with it being a foul, but consider the speed Crouchy's at, even a slight tap/trip's gonna bring that beanpole down (refer to the chapter Centre of gravity in your secondary school Physics textbook). Gerrard walks up to take the penalty and strikes, blasting it into the bottom right corner of the net!!! 2-0 for Liverpool!!!

Lil' trivia here: Sir Elton John's uncle Roy Dwight was the only Fulham player to ever score a hat-trick against Liverpool in 1956. Pretty neat huh? XD And Liverpool continues our unbeaten record!!! XD We finally scored a 3-pointer!!! Haha this is gonna give our Liverpool lads a major morale boost, following our 2 consecutive home wins! Just when we're picking up momentum, we're off on our international break again, no problem though, we're gonna come back for more! :D Though I wouldn't like to see Owen up against us on the 24th, Liverpool once (and still does) means so much to him. Hmm...but that's life for you I guess.

This season (like many others) has been one helluva roller coaster ride for Liver lads and fans alike, but boy whatta ride~ :DDD Sitting pretty comfortably on the league table at no. 4. Fire away Livers! YNWA~

Watched a lil' of Barca's match against Getafe (check out the commentator for la liga, his accent is really amusing!) and by half-time Barca's actually one down after a goal by Getafe's Manu. Went to check and the full-time score was 2-nil to Getafe. o_0! Football's always full of surprises, eh?

By the way, Mascherano has again reaffirmed that he's gonna stay on for Liverpool for many, many years to come. Here's an Mascherano's declaration of love for Liverpool from liverpoolfc.tv:

Javier Mascherano has once again spoken of his desire to stay at Liverpool so he can form a long-term partnership with "one of the best players in the world".

The player Maradona described as a 'monster' is desperate to extend his Anfield deal beyond the summer, claiming Merseyside is the best place for him to become a world-beater.

"By staying here I will become a better player and that way I can help Liverpool to be more successful," said the 23-year-old, who already has 33 international caps to his name.

"It would also be fantastic to form a long-term partnership with Steve Gerrard - everyone knows he is one of the best midfield players in the world."

Mascherano's declaration comes just days after Rafa Benitez reiterated his desire to keep the midfielder at the club.

"I am calm and relaxed about it," added the Argentine. "From my point of view it is simple - I want to play for Liverpool, I want to sign a permanent deal.
"I have told Rafa Benitez this and he has told me he wants to keep me.

"I have had enough of travelling the world from club to club. I want roots, and I want them here in Liverpool. I don't want to move again next summer but if I do not sign for Liverpool then I will not play for another club in England. Not Manchester United, not Chelsea or Arsenal.

"If I am not with Liverpool I don't want to be in England. It would be impossible for me to play against them in the Premier League because of the respect I have for the club. I want to stay in England, but only with Liverpool.

"The club created an opportunity for me which I am grateful for so no other English club will come into my thoughts."

Good news good news! Mum's just called Starhub the other day and tweaked with our cable TV plan again! So, now we're gonna have Ch 56, which means I CAN FINALLY GET TO WATCH JAM HSIAO JING TENG making his 3-time monumental PKs against Yang Zong Wei on Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao on television! No more dealing with blurred, pixellated online videos! XD His 6 month contract with Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao officially comes to an end today! :D

Exams are lurking, let's get this over and done with and go crazy after that, shall we? ;)

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY TO ME! EMBRACE THE BIG 2O BABY! =D

I wanna say THANK YOU every buddy for the birthday wishes, greetings, cards, cakes/pressies! XP Love them a lot!

The soya bean milk was such a 'pleasant' surprise. Haha fortunately it didn't explode in the bag, otherwise gotta send for l
aundry la! Love you guys! Eh must meet up every single one of you after the freaking exams yeah! XP

Went Japanese today, went to Gelare for
ice-cream, really really need to take a dump now! But I'll churn out this post before I go, see I'm sooo nice! XP

I saw a rainbow in front of my house today! On my birthday! So, I made many, many wishes! XP

Oh happy day~ Haha the other day I got a letter saying that I've got a registered mail from SingPost at the door with my name on it, so my folks speculated who the parcel was from. Coincidentally, my folks got letters from the CPF board, so I told them "must be the Government!" Then they told me "But it's handwritten, no surname also" So I replied "I'm friends with the Government what." They called me siao. -_-" Somebody tell me I got a wonderful family. Haha XD The present was really funny, cracked me up when I saw the packet of soya milk in the bag, nicely wrapped in a plastic bag. Hahaha I'm gonna finish the snacks by today! XP

Love you people! =3=

Thursday, November 08, 2007 , 11:03 PM

Met up with Roo, Yu, Nana, Huimin, Huiyun (Aunty Lam! Haha that's what I call her in the office XD). Find the missing person? Bobo! Haha but neh mind it's her Dad's birthday. XD

I was late! =( Was supposed to meet them at 6pm, but I stepped out of my house AT 6pm. XD Was looking high and low for my damned EZlink card, finally gave up and hopped on a cab (considering I was grossly late!!!) down. The taxi uncle very hip, listen to 933FM, most taxi uncles either listen to 1) 958FM (like my Ah Gong XD) or 2) Gold 90 FM. Was listening to 蕭 敬 騰's music on my MP3, was plugged to my left earphone, wanted to plug the right one but was kinda worried that the uncle might think that I'm disturbed by his music so decided not to. Lol.

This restaurant bar as Serangoon's an eye opener for me man! We had our main course downstairs, and there were times when they played awesome rock music (Metallica) and then I look at the Gachapon and neoprint machines before me, hahaha they really clash la. Went crazy laughing cus' the music didn't match the decor/environment. But boy their plasma TV was smashin'! Find the noiseless MTV a lil'...umm weird though. Lol. Thanks for the oreo cheesecake fellas! Smelly never say no to sweet stuff and A LITTLE alcohol. Nothing like a good sugar rush, eh? (wink wink) XD

Ordered Grilled Chicken Chop with mashed potatoes, they told me to eat slower cus' Huiyun's on her way, and my plate ended up like a... as Huimin suggested "swamp". My mashed potatoes went gooey and the sauce and the chicken skin all kinda merged together into one yucky concoction man. Haha I couldn't even pick out the mushrooms from the mess o_0! But I'm not a messy eater usually!!! I swear it's the mashed potatoes! =D

Huiyun arrived! Chat and bantered at the restaurant (they needed to recover from the main course before hitting the booze XD), regailed them with the origins of my nickname 'Smelly', *sighs* it all started with the LEP camp. Hahaha eh eh Roo don't try to evade responsibility hor! Lol. But I don't think it really stink leh. I think I developed my resistance for odours during my secondary school years. I always reach school insanely early (so I was the assigned class newspaper girl, they tompang me to get the Today newspaper), so I always see the garbage man (you know those where he rides this cool-looking vehicle and transports thrash from dump tp dump) and I'd pass by him almost every day, I'll pretend to not be bothered by the stench cus' I think it'll hurt his feelings right? Imagine if you were him and someone went eeeee and all that in front of you, you'll feel a lil' hurt right? And it's not even your fault it has to stink that badly. At the beginning it really kinda stank, but I kinda got used to it over time, it really isn't that bad lor.

Headed upstairs which is the bar area. This is a really cool concept, it'd be a plus if you can have like an in-house musician, have some awesome singer with a simple keyboard or acoustic guitar it'd be perfect!!! Like XIAO JING TENG for instance! Haha! Surprisingly, I didn't order Long Island, picked Tequila Sunrise instead. I like citric flavored cocktails! Haha but Yu's Sea Breeze and my TS's aftertaste really sucked, got that annoying cough mixture bleargh flavor. And I think they skimped on the tequila, tasted like Fruit Tree Fresh orange juice. =( Roo ordered Black Russian! Hahaha I was joking hor Roo XD Huiyun asked me to help her order Chicken Chop and Cosmo. Funny to have a chicken chop at the bar area right? With Cosmo to down it somemore. Haha but they didn't think it's funny leh. o_0! XD Yun said the glass looked like those condo showroom kinda vase. Very apt description. After Huimin's and Yun's commendation on Choya, I think I might go try a bottle someday! I'm gonna challenge fermented choya. XD

Yu and I got this leather chair that looks comfy but is not exactly comfy, the back of the chair's really stiff (like something that corrects your posture) but the good thing it can swing from side to side, like some slimming device that Osim will have. They can call it Iswing or something. I like Nana's Fizz something something, very well balanced cocktail! Cus' the juice doesn't overpower the alcohol. Gonna try that next time!

Had fun laughing at the techno music and the noiseless MTV, haha think we're pros at lip-reading already. We actually got through Pimp My Ride like we were watching it with the volume on man. I love their toilet! Very cowboyish, makes me feel like dancing that lil ditty in Jay Chow's 牛 仔 很 忙 MV. Did something stupid with the tap, I shifted the handle right, no water, shifted it to the left, still no water so I kept shifting it left and right, then Nana lifted the handle out and water came out. -_-" Tell me I'm not stupid, somebody!

Left the building at appox 11 plus (??). Nana and I weren't too excited about the wait for bus 853 (they got a baaad track record man). But it came sooner than we thought. Paid the adult fare (take note of this cus' it's gonna be crucial in the later part of my post) and the driver gave me a funny look but he didn't say anything. We sat at the seats right behind the driver, told Nana that that's usually the 'old people' seat, haha like aunties lor. A ticket inspector boarded the bus so I gave her my ticket, then she asked me for my student pass (!), then blur me told her I don't have my student card then I did something stupid! I took out my NTU matric card and asked her if it's the student card she's looking for then she says "No, Nanyang not student. You must pay the adult fare la lidat." So, I told her I paid $1.50 (10 cents more than the adult fare lor!!!) then she didn't believe me! Lucky Nana told her I paid the adult fare. Then she went to verify with the driver and he told her he printed my ticket wrongly. -_-" Don't you just love public transport? Haha honestly I do, especially bus rides, but I always have this lil' fear with bus inspectors, Nana also thinks that the lady was kinda fierce, she should go work at the Customs man. Walked home from the interchange instead, nothing like a nice walk at night.

Realised my eyes tend to get a lil' dry after drinks, think it's cause of dehydration, hmm shall bring along a bottle of water next time. ;) Thanks for the night fellas though Yu and I'd love to have a lil' more to drink. Just a little, I swear. =D

Coverage on Liverpool vs Besiktas (Champions League Group Phase)

Liverpool 8-0 Besiktas

(Crouch 19",89"; Benayoun 32", 53", 56"; Gerrard 69"; Babel 78", 81")

1st Half:

Kicks off
I'm so nervy! Everyone in the stands holding their Liverpool-adorned scarves singing the anthem, there's this bloke amongst the crowd who looked as if he's gonna cry the next second.
Congrats to Hyypia's 100th European appearance!

3" Voronin wide, crouch heads it down to Voronin but it's just wide

5" Free kick to Besiktas after a mid-air challenge
Kinda surprised to see so many Turks in the stands.
They gotta break Turk's short passes (adopt small circle formation and moves slowly forward)/break the flow.

7" Riise crosses, Crouch with a header but he heads wide.

9" Nice manoeuvre by Riise even though he loses the ball with 2 turks on his side

10" Nice ball by Benayoun to Arbeloa, he runs down the flank but loses the ball
Ozkan picks up a yellow. We're going all out today!

12" Nice smooth, short passes in midfield, Mascherano crosses to Arbe, finds Benayoun lurking near penalty box but fails to connect
Confident we're gonna bag goals today! Got my hopes up again. Voronin's a better partner with Stevie.

16" Voronin crosses to Crouch, he's going for goal but is brought down by Turk, nothing from ref
Benayoun's gotta be my MOTM tonight PLUS he's got this Dorian Gray(from the League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen), Johnny Depp kinda charm =D
Nice flick by crouch to Riise but fails to shoot
Voronin gives ball away (riise)
Riise's awesome, he's as persistent as Roberto Carlos, does a nice clearance

19" CROUCH SCORES!!! Voronin squares it to Crouch, defenders running after him, Crouchy shoots but it deflects off the keeper, Crouch picks it up and shoots again, and lands at the bottom right of the net
We're beginning to play like we did in the opening season! Really really happy!
Arbeloa fires a long range shot but it lands on top netting.

20" Corner by Stevie, Riise heads towards goal but deflected off turk's head right in front of goal
Crouch shoots from long range at right flank at an awkward angle, nice attempt but impossible haha but yeah his confidence is definitely assuring

24" Stevie's passing from left to right flank damn zai, is like he's got ultimate control of the ball, passing's immaculate man, and he makes it look so easy.
Free kick's awarded after a foul on Arbeloa

25" We dominate with 66% possession 25 mins into the game
These 3 points are really valuable to us.
We're playing really wide today unlike the previous match against Rovers

27" Benayoun finds Crouch, and he tries to slide it towards goal but keeper keeps it

29" Turks charge towards our side of goal, tries to find Bobo (haha Bobo you reading this?) but defender clears it. Everyone's doing awesome tonight, Benayoun's fantastic, really sharp on the ball.

30" Lol a lousy throw in by a Beskitas player.
Reina kicks away Memet's shot at goal.
Besiktas tend to do nice short passes like playing chapteh among themselves.

32" Riise's throw in reaches Voronin and he picks out Benayoun and scores!!! Ben makes it 2-0! Big Ben's awesome! Really sharp and knows where to stand when ball's coming in.

11 mins to HT.
Riise does well tonight after Rovers' match, he'll fight until gets ball outta play when there's a threat.

37" Crouch-Gerrard (one-two) tries to beat GK
My MOTM's so gonna be Benayoun.
Gerrard breaks Besiktas's flow of passing in front of goal (eminent danger)

40" Voronin cuts down the middle and squares it down to Benayoun and shoots but flies off the top of crossbar.
I like Toriman's (Besiktas) haircut! Very funky!
We're so much more oragnised today.
MOTM contenders: Riise, Gerrard, Benayoun, Voronin, Crouch
Defenders are awesome today too but today's game's more on attack so these fellas really stand out.

44" Voronin does well brings it down for Benayoun, he fires a shot but missed,

------------------------------------HALF-TIME-----------------------------------------------

Comments on 1st half performance:
Now that's what we're talking about! =)))))
High tempo, Crouch's the MOTM for ESPN's Shebby Singh. Agree with him that Crouch's got nice movement especially at the 19", knows when to come in for goal, picks up the deflection and shoots again

Liverpool's always got critics saying it's a one-man show. He plays attacking midfield, so he gotta connect and gotta score goals, sorta like bao gah liao. Sounds like massive pressure but Stevie never breaks. Critics gotta eat their words tonight cus' it's a team performance baby!

HT statistics:
Shots: 13 shots (Liverpool) vs 1 shot (Besiktas)
On-target shots: 6 (Liverpool) vs 0 (Besiktas)
Possession: 63% (L) vs 37% (B)
Saw some highlights over on Chelsea's side and the color of their away kit's like highlighter la! Think it's a conspiracy to distract the opponents lor!
HT 0-0 schalke vs chelsea
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Half:
45" Besiktas substitution: Tandogan on for Ozkan
Today's commentators are my favorite! David Platt and Martin Tyler! Booyeah! XD
Hahaha there's player in marseille called Niang.
Crouch contains the ball well.
48" Gerrard crosses in finds benayoun, benayoun shoots but it's deflected by GK
Gerrard slides GK for ball as he goes for goal, medic's called in but he recovers and continues with the game.
Crouch's got this small little touches that makes such a big difference.

53" BENA scores and makes it 3-0!!! Voronin does well, finds Riise he shoots and rebounds, finds Benayoun and he shoots and scores (bottom right net) =DDD
Voronin crosses to Crouch, he's going for goal but he realises he's offside

56" Free kick to Livers (taken by Gerrard) goes for goal but rebounds off GK and Ben scores AGAIN! HAT TRICK FOR BENA! Bottom right netting again. =DDDD
I LOVE BENAYOUN! 4-0 to Liverpool!
Everybody's hungry for a goal tonight, nice to see them charging for goal, we've got a point to prove and we're gonna prove it. Kinds reminds me of that Istanbul 2005 comeback. =)

(Valencia's beaten by Rosenborg (Iversen scored 2-0)
30 mins to FT
61" Besiktas does a switch: Kurtulus off for Hiiguain (nugget of info from commentators: He comes from a football family and his brother's in R.Madrid)

62" Liverpool switch: Babel on for Aurelio
Babel-Gerrard goes forward, Stevie shoots shot rebounds and Babel shoots again but wide
Woah we got shots 20 shots, with 13 on target! Obvious what kinda game we're playing tonight.

64" Free kick to LFC, Gerrard takes it but deflects off a Besiktas player
Bena's hungry for more!!!
(Inzaghi scores for AC Milan 1-0)

69" Mascherano passes to Voronin and he does a nice assist with a lil' diagonal flick to Stevie down the middle, Stevie shoots and scores!!! 5-0! Nice V-G partnership

71" Kewell subs for Voronin
72" Lucas on for Gerrard. Raging applause for both Liver lads.

Riise blasts a looooong range shot abt 25 yards (he's lil' Carlos man!) haha nice one Riise.
(Kaka scored AC MIlan's 2nd goal at 72")

Kewell lobs the ball for goal but goes over the net.
77" Sedef off for Ricardinho.
(Porto 2 Marseille 1)

78" Babel scores!!!! Benayoun squares to Babel, he does a diagonal back flick and into the bottom left netting. Haha I remembered Raul had a goal last time that's kinda similar. Very cool goal! XD And Liverpool makes it 6-0! =DDDDDD

Everyone wants a goal! And we finally look like we're having fun after underperforming for the past few weeks. Really glad and happy for the lads! XD

80" Curly hair man brings down

81" GOAL!!! Babel credited for goal. 7-0!!! But I thought it's an own goal!?! Thought I saw the Besiktas lob the ball (tried to clear it) into the net!?! o_0!
Liverpool fans went berserk in the stands!

83" Bobo attempts to score but Reina keeps it

84" Babel heads but hits the crossbar. Could easily have been a hat trick for him. X)
Riise wants a goal too he keeps blasting long range shots ala Roberto Carlos but it's wiiide.
5 mins to FT

89" And Crouchy scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-0!!!!! Benayoun crosses to crouch and he heads in through the top left corner.

Quote from commentator "8 truly great!" Indeed! Haha I bet every Liver fan's going crazy right now!
-------------------------------FULL-TIME!!!!---------------------------------------------

Gonna name our comeback (from the Group table in Champions League) "Phoenix rises from the ashes"
Hahaha I know it sounds corny la but it's really befitting of our performance tonight! And our Liverbird mascot looks kinda like a phoenix what! Right right! *smirks*

MOTM: Liverpool FC
Everyone really did great tonight. Team performance. X) YNWA!

Pre-match thoughts...

It's a step closer to Europe or the locker room for our Liverpool lads. Keeping my fingers crossed. Rafa says he might play Torres if his fitness's given the green. I have mixed feelings about this. Hmm we'll see. This is Rafa's reply when the reporter asked if he's gonna make any changes tonight "We'll see. I might make some changes that may surprise them (the players)" with a beaming smile on his bearded face. Lol. Does he even know what kinda predicament he's landed himself in? Even though he's been given lotsa slack about his very...how should I put it...unconventional management principles (even from home fans), I like him. Theoretically, his rotation principle is sound, the problem is results will only surface in the long run. And the thing is (sad to say) football's not so much like in the past, there's a lot more commericalism in it now (y'know with all the sports betting, jersey sales, merchandise and stuff etc), and I certainly doubt the owners Gillette and Hicks are gonna give Rafa 10 years just to prove his point.

*Just saw Ronaldo on tele* He's growing his hair!! Haha I'm not keen on the Serie A but for Ronaldo, I might consider having some Italian action. ;) I like him, I like his pace, I like his finishing, I like how he's always on his toes, even when the ball's not in his area of play, I like his cheeky smile even when his shots don't find their way into the net, I like the gap between his 2 front teeth (have you noticed many top-notch Brazilian players have that same characteristic??), I like the passion in his eyes. While I can only see frustration more often in my Liver lads, fight on you guys! YNWA~ And for one LAST time, Ronaldo's NOT FAT period.

I really hope Rafa's right today. If he's gonna set things right, it's gonna be right now. I'm really sick of us underperforming, I'm really sick of us looking like the pushover kid round the block with a problem in self-esteem, I've had enough watching sports analysts/reports/commentaries talking about our recent (under)performance. And the reason for my frustration? They are right about us and it hurts. We kicked off the season on a high note, then things fell apart along the way, will it be too late to salvage the situation? I sure hope not. Even Man City's sitting on no. 3 in the table now, Thaksin (the current owner of Man City) describes Man City as a "sleeping giant" and "he's good at waking up sleeping giants". I think that's a really cool description, very apt too. Can he drive by Anfield some time and wake Rafa up too? I love Rafa, he looks wise and amiable, I really believe he's got loads of tactical knowledge up there but he's getting a liiiiitle (very) carried away right now. Player rotation's a risky concept (Rafa's really got guts to execute something so uncoventional), especially for an English side where the football's more physical, players need to constantly drill themselves to keep up with the pace and rhythm, so when he starts rotating them, it kinda interrupts their momentum, no?

Football's changed a lot over the the decade, the commentating style's changed, players' fitness levels changed/improved, soccer's seeing A LOT more fluidity (more globalised), more money's involved, heck even the sponsorship boards lining the pitch have changed from the old fashioned wooden ones to today's conveyor belt and even LED display ones. Some things never change, and it's these things that really matter.

Back to my life. Exams are coming soon and I shall not start counting down to it, since it isn't something you'd count down to with anticipation. So yeah. Been in the bl**dy examination system for close to 14 years now (excl. kindergarten and nursery years), and we all still dread it. I guess there are some things in life we NEVER get used to huh? Lol.

update: Kuyt's on the bench, Voronin's played. Re-match analyst Shebby Singh commented that Voronin shouldn't be called a striker since he usually plays outside the penalty box (assists) and don't bag goals consistently. Judging from his recent matches, I gotta agree he doesn't bag as many goals, but I can't really blame him, with Rafa's rotation policy, it's a lil' difficult to get the hang/feel of play y'know?

UPDATE: Liverpool 8-0 Besiktas

Crouch 19", 89"

Benayoun 32", 53", 56"

Gerrard 69"

Babel 78", 81"

:)))))))))) I'M DELIRIOUS NOW! I'M GONNA SMILE MYSELF TO

SLEEP TONIGHT BABY! THE CHAMPIONS~~~ YNWA~ WE

CAME BACK A LA 2005 ISTANBUL STYLE!!!

Loooong overdue post on Livers' performance against Blackburn. Do bear with me while I get it all out. :)

Blackburn 0-0 Liverpool

19" Nice block by Riise at the corner of penalty box (down the right flank)

Forced back many times, back passing by rovers shows immaculate communication and outright confidence
We look really half hearted today
Certainly not sharp today
First half's pace's kinda slow
Rovers created more attempts for sure.
LOL! Someone's playing Rubik's cube in the stands. o_0! Can't blame him, can I? =x

34" Bentley VERY NEARLY got us 1 down! Riise tried to clear it but it was really sloppy by his standards!
We're playing like puppets really, hate to admit, Rovers dominating the 1st half.
Boy, the Liver lads sure look frustrated.
I am frustrated. =(

41" Benayoun's good move finds Babel, he does well but doesn't completes it. Awesome attempt though, we sparked back to life for a few seconds there and at least gave Rovers' GK some work to do, otherwise even he might begin to take his Rubik's cube out of his pocket for some entertainment instead.

45" Dunn's long range shot nearly got the lead, pity it bounced off the woodwork instead! Whatta scare!
Are we lucky or are they unlucky? Hmm...

46" Corner for Rovers
Gerrard's ON side la ref!

First-half statistics:
Blackburn 0-0 Liverpool

Possession
52% 48%

Shots on target
5 2

Shots off target
3 0

Corners
2 0

Fouls
3 4

Gawd. I gotta pop some pills (candy), this is beginning to get depressing. We hung scraped 9 pts outta the last 5 games. My friend kept rubbing salt into my wound, touting our continued unbeaten run and then going on to quote the amount of 1 pointers we got. -_-"
On our first half, dammit we gave the ball away far too many times. And please for football's sakes BRING ON CROUCH, KEWELL, LUCAS! We need to load up on pace and firepower Rafa!
It's a miracle Dunn's goal didn't make it into the back of the net.
We need to play with more width, the center's just too tight for the likes of Gerrard to make an impact. Just check out BBC's quotes at half-time.

1742: "Liverpool tactics look crude, it seems as though they're gonna bore the opposition into submission then steal a goal when they're asleep. Effective to say the least and it looks to be working."

-----------------------------HALF TIME---------------------------------

47" Nice clearance by Carragher
Babel's attempt gets a corner

53" Riise's clearance sucks today
KUYT SUCKS BIG TIME! Get him off, sub him with Rafa whatever, just get him off! He's too slow to connect with Gerrard man!
Yellow for Carra's foul on Santa Cruz. Free kick awarded to Rovers. 5 men wall
Nice block by Gerrard's butt. Corner for rovers

61" Kuyt took forever to connect to kuyt! Uuurghhhhh!!! He's too slow to react, too indecisive!
Babel's off for Kewell (Hurrah! But why Babel!?! )
Bring Kuyt off...bring Kuyt off *chanting*
Oops handball by Carra!?! Just trying to balance himself? Didn't look deliberate but really should've been a second yellow for him.
Corner finds Santa Cruz but it's just over the net.
Backpassing by rovers many times, really awesome communication on pitch.

69" Crouch's coming on!!!
GET KUYT OUTTA THERE!

71" Crouch come on for Benayoun (why!?!)
Why not shift Babel up front and take Kuyt off?!
73" Nice 1-2 move by Kuyt and Gerrard, connects to Crouch

Crouch's offside though, wasted!
We need a goal! Rafa needs his job! We need hope!

78" Carra's one on one with Santa Cruz

78" Gerrard could've got us 1 up! His should-be goal deflects off the post and finds Crouch but he
wasn't sharp enough. =( Eyes on the ball, eyes on the ball. Owen's dad always says.

Rovers seem to be slowing down

Kewell's presence injects some much-needed pace and attack. Things are beginning to look a lil' better.
Carra and Mascherano's yelling at each other (Carra giving Masch a earful for giving away the ball too often). Masch says f*ck off (haha I'm a good lip reader).
Someone on Liverpool's message boards just suggested "why rotate players rotate managers!"
5 mins to FT...
Crouch missed the header which's deflected, Gerrard picks it up and shoots! Friedel saves! =(
Kuyt skyrockets it into the air right in front of Rover's goal after Kewell's slots the ball in for him
89" Kuyts takes it again and shoots but misses! But it's a tough angle though.
I'm kinda sad for Kuyt, he's really hardworking to get things right but it's just not working and will you just look at the man! He's obviously frustrated with himself, *sighs* pray that some soccer muse inspires him and shows him the way *saintly music* soon.
And it's yet another draw. =/

--------------------------Full Time------------------------------------

11 unbeaten runs but we had sooooooo many draws. Please please don't give us any more draws.
Carra's been picking up many fouls (more than his average last season) lately, and you can't blame him, he's the only guy on the pitch going out to tackle his opponents. Rafa'd better do something and fast! Or he's gonna join Moaninho on a looong holiday where they can yell each others' heads off about referees' decisions FOREVER, no holds barred :). Ohhh bring back the Liverpool of old, bring them back to me. =,(
