Happy 18th Birthday Peiru!!!
P.S: Sorry I can't celebrate your birthday cuz' I need to get passport. Anyways, have a rocking good time girl!

Monday, November 28, 2005 , 6:47 PM

Shucks. It's like 2.27am 28th Nov 2005. And, guess what? I'm still blogging and my lil sis's still watching Charlie and the chocolate factory(2005 version).

I had an awesome day today! LOL. Going out with me mum and sis is F-U-N!
We picked up so many bargains.
Met me mum after she got off work at City Hall.
Got into HMV( City Link Mall) and saw a Liverpool FC 2006 calender! It costs $17.95. Well, there were Man. U's , Chelsea's and Arsenal's. Hmmm...should I get the Man U one for Peiru's birthday? *wondering*
LOL.
There was something that I really wanna buy. That Limp Bizkit Greatest Hits album. It was also $17.95( painfully cheap). But my sis managed to talk me out of it, saying that I could have dl-ed it thru the Net anyway. Well, that made sense.
LOL. Since i can't decide which to buy, I decided to NOT buy either of 'em.

Crossed over to Suntec City.
*yippee* I hereby proclaim Carrefour is BUDGET PARADISE.
Here's a list of what we got:

MUM :)
  • Some old HK singer's KTV DVD - $7.90
  • A 16" fluorescent lamp bulb - $2.00

SISTER :)

  • 1 black tee - $5.90

ME :)

  • 1 black 1 white tee - $5.90*2
  • 1 pink polo tee - $9.90
  • 1 FBT tank - $12.90
  • 2 pretzels( Aunt Anne's) - $7.60 (mum got caramel almond and I got garlic)

Well, we didn't exactly bought a lot of stuff. But the quality was great and it was def value-for-money! Aargh if only I've remembered to bring my ATM card along, I would have gotten that Philips headphone for only $9.90!

Took a train to Bugis( we actually boarded the wrong train in a hurry initially).

Went to pray for good grades. LOL. Twas' really crowded there! Sunday.

I realised there's ALWAYS a handbag and mattress sale in OG. Which amuses me somehow. LOL.

My sis got board shorts there for her upcoming chalet. And I thought she'd look great in it.

LOL. My sis broke that lamp mum bought even before we got home.

Yippee* I got a watch at Bugis village! Resembled a fossil watch that I've always wanted!

LOL. I'm gonna laugh in my sleep tonight (or should I say this morning).

Well, there's so many things I wanna buy in Bugis! That skirt. That bag. That cardigan. Shucks. I need more clothes for my vacation come December!

God. Please send me a blank cheque! :)

, 3:27 AM

Something supernatural( I can't say for sure) happened yesterday night, or should I say, midnight. I was sure I wasn't imagining things since my sister did also hear weird sounds coming from our closed door. We were in the living room( I was watching this amazin movie which I'll go into further detail later, while my sis was at the comp). at first, it sounded like bells or something, well we didn't pay much attention to it and pass it off as our neighbor's cat taking a stroll along the corridors( midnight? hmmm...). The second time it struck, it was much louder and we were really startled, or more accurately, spooked by it. The sound was accompanied by the tinkling of bells. there was this bumping sound, as if a cat( bells) was banging itself against our door or something. We were really tempted to take a peek outside but decided not to, I mean it could be anything, right?

God. I seriously hope it was something supernatural, but then again, I was also half hoping that it was just a cat( which I'm more logically inclined to believe). Aargh. If it really was something supernatural, then at least there would be something exciting to highlight my otherwise boring holiday. LOL. Am I crazy? Heck. I think I've succumbed to holidays-boredom syndrome. I'm questioning my sanity at this very moment. LOL.

The movie 'My dog Skip'

There was this movie "My dog Skip" on yesterday's Friday Night Supperclub( a ch 5 late night movie time-slot). God. After watching it, it just reaffirms my desire to have a pet dog. But then again, I'm afraid I can't get over its loss if it were to pass on( as in the movie).

It was about the friendship between a boy( the target of school bullies) and a dog( he got it as a birthday present). *boy played by Frankie Muniz* And trust me, Skip was one helluva inspiring dog. He taught Willie( Frankie Muniz) the many important lessons in life, like friendship, loyalty and love. It was set in the 1930s-1940s so America was still at war with the Nazis. And the Americans were also segregated among themselves, The coloreds( afro-Americans, hispaniacs) and the whites. There was this narrative in the movie which goes like this " Like every other dog, Skip was color-blind and he made friends irregardless of their skin color".

I strongly recommend this movie, which is based on a true story, by Willie Morris( yes, he's the owner of Skip), which goes by the same title.

There's something really unique about this lil dog, he's intelligent and totally endearing. There was something uncannily human about Skip, he watches movies with the gang, he understands what they say to him, man he even plays matchmaker to Willie and his crush. Well, as they say the ratio of dog years to man years is 7:1, hence, Skip was already an adult when Willie was just a boy. Well, to Willie, Skip was as wise as time.

Hurrah to Skip, hurrah to all dogs!

Mum, can I have a dog? No? Ah, come on!

Skip!

I love this song.

Colin Raye's "Love, me".

It touches my heart whenever I listen to this song. It reminds me of my late grandma.

Popo, I miss you.

Man oh man! I've picked up a really brilliant 'n' intriguing book, titled "The Secret Window" by Stephen King.
As far as I've read, it's about these people who boarded the American Pride red-eye flight to Boston, and mid-air all the rest of the passengers went missing leaving behind jewellery, watches and all things metallic...all except 10 passengers on-board who were sleeping when somethin occured. One of the passengers who happened to be a pilot radio-ed the ground and even to any neighboring flights but there was no signs of any human prescence at all. It was as if the whole of Denver had disappeard from the map and everything ard them was pitch black.

God! I'm so gonna dive right in into my book again! Especially with this cool, wintery weather plus a cup of hot milo and comfy sofa...ahhhHHhhh~ This is the life, baby. LOL.

I caught Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire again yesterday. Though I must say that the 1st experience was much better. it feels more magical watching it the first time. But it was still good! I have a crush on Harry, Fred and George! Aargh...if I can have their moving pictures pasted on my wall. LOL.

Ron lookin good in ANCIENT dress robes. LOL.

The motley crew who always saves the day.

Not forgetting this hottie Cedric Diggory. *knock-out*

My HERO! *chants: harry harry harry...*
I LOVE HIM!

The cast from HPGOF in the gala premiere. LOL. Whassup with Ron?

Ron doin the Yule Ball dance with none other than McGonagall. LOL. He doesn't look too pleased.

Fred 'n' George Weasley! LOL. My fav twins! They totally rawk! Love em' ta bits!

Tuesday, November 22, 2005 , 3:37 AM

I woke up at hmmm lemme see 9.16am today? LOL. I cannot possibly tell you how many ch 5 TV sitcoms. Well, I'm not exactly watching them, I just leave it on. I reckon I'm too used to the noises from that black box. LOL. Wasteful city kids. I bet Singapore has the largest couch potato population. In America/Aussie/Europe,they don't usually place their TV sets (equipped with full hi-fi sets, VCD player...well, the works) in their living rooms, they usually leave it in the common room (for recreation).

On that oh-so-magical outing yesterday...

Headed down to Bishan yesterday morning. Met up with Sharon (mah cousin) in the morning cuz she's also heading down to Bishan, our motive's to catch campus superstar in action. LOL. Sugi's cute. But short. All went rather smoothly when I finally got outta the house, well, no bad hair day AND the weather's really cool and comfy. UNTIL I reached the darn MRT station. I actually brought everything out except my EZ-Link card. Aargh. So, I'm forced to buy a standard ticket from one of the row of crummy-looking machines with a map on. God, I'm not good with machines. No honestly, it's either me who gets all cranked up with machines or it's those machines who cranks me up.

Finally! We saw many students in uniforms (duh?), yes but WITHOUT their name tags on. So, we were there spotting people from our schools, occassionally larfin at the singing (yes, we are mean) and stuff. There weren't many people though. There's one thing I can't figure out though, why are the judges actors/actresses/hosts/even an ex-beauty queen turned actress/host (golly!)...anything BUT people from the music industry? Well, they prolly need these media people to boost their publicity or maybe they can't afford to invite music professionals? I mean, it's like they don't really give a shit about this campus superstar anyway. I bet they're hoping to pick out some rare talents among this bunch of teens outta sheer luck and then exploit the living daylights outta them. Man, TV these days are filled (or should I say contaminated) with idol-O-mania. Oh yeah, a NYJC-ian yr 1 girl got in. She's awesome!

Moving on! LOL. Just when we were moving outta the place ( filled mostly with 14-16 yr olds and God, I felt like a senior citizen around them), Renmin was there! Well, so I joined her while my cousin, sis and their friends went on for lunch. I was so darn happy seeing her! I mean after such a long time not seeing each other. LOL. It was really awesome, I can't describe it though, it just felt so familiar and comfy. And I should add this: Shimin was late by an hour cuz she overslept! LOL. And she then she got her grandma to experiment different hairstyles with her hair. Looking at her (head), it was quite a hit! LOL. As Shing Yeen says, she does look cute man. Hahaz...like an overaged child. LOL. Her hair was holding up pretty well before it sorta collapsed? Hahaz...you still look great lar Shim.

Everyone looked pretty much the same. Except for our diva: Shing Yeen. LOL. She's moved on from a boA look to a hot mama look. Hahaz...she's got her hair straightened and dyed a cool and natural-looking shade of brown. Hot hot hot! Hahaz...I'm lovin it!

After getting the tickets, we went back to the audition ground and managed to see Sugi (well, barely cuz we were nearer to the entrance than to the stage) entertaining the crowd with lame jokes and his singing. We stood there for ages, listening to song after song before Shim finally appeared! LOL. We then headed down to pasta mania for brunch. Well, Shim was supposed ta treat us to brunch as punishment for not being punctual. LOL. But we let her off since she didn't have enough $$$ and more importantly, cuz she's our cute lil matey. LOL. Fret not Shim, we'll leave it to next time. Hahaz...pasta mania's pasta were awesome! The ambience was great (I think it's cuz of those maroon 'n' cosy-looking walls). I had mussels 'n' clams with white wine and garlic sauce. *slurps n burps* Food really tastes great when you're in good company. LOL. And that was when Shim's '5mths impregnated tummy' appeared.

We went on to swensens for dessert. We had giant earthquake. LOL. It looked...gigantic. The ice-cream, in the beginning was totally yummy and yummy-looking...seconds later, the misty fumes streaming profusely outta the salt-shaker thingy died out...the choc+caramel+cream+ice cream= sinful, but heck, was it heavenly. Minutes later, the ice-cream sorta begun ta look a tad deformed. Everything sorta merged into one yucky mess. Not only the ice-cream bowl was messy, heck, we even messed up the table. LOL. We really should have left some tips. LOL. We chatted and talked about our lives and the past, but Renmin had to answer the call of nature so we went for a toilet break.

LOL. Hours later, we were in the cinema...FINALLY! LOL. Shim's was chiong-in for PRIME seats where Shing Yeen proceeded to torture her. LOL. The movie was pretty awesome! Many people were criticising it and stuff, prolly cuz they've recently read the book and still had a fresh memory on every little detail. But for a 600++ pages book to be condensed into a 2hr30mins movie, I thought it was a pretty smooth delivery. Man oh man, the Quidditch Worl Cup stadium reminded me of the Millenium stadium...only better! It was so cool! If only we had all these for 2006 World Cup...imagine Michael Owen flashed across the whole stadium ala Viktor Krum style. LOL. The triwizard tornament was another killer! It gave me an adrenaline rush! Aargh, Cedric's good-looking but Harry's my hero! He's so darn brave and righteous! But, he got 'molested' by moaning myrtle! Aargh, that ghost of a bitch! LOL. Ron was totally hilarious at the Yule Ball. But it was really sad when Cedric died and at tt moment when the ghost of Cedric said "Take my body back to my father" it opened my floodgates. Well, by the end of the show it had me wanting to see more of Harry Potter!

LOL. By the end of the show, God knows what time it is. We went for a pocket-friendly dinner at LJS where we had combo 1 as usual. LOL. Thank God for LJS! By the end of it I felt like I was carrying a HUGE water balloon in my tummy. But it was a truly magical day. We reminisced the past, chatted about the present, and even planned the future. LOL. Our future outings I mean. Picnic trip at Sentosa and loads of window-shopping before all of us start work n stuff. LOL. Shit, I'm missing you guys already.

Ahhh~ Hope to see you guys soon! And hopefully, we'll have the whole gang of mates this time! Maybe we can meet up with Kan Ee mid-Dec? Man, the holidays hold so much possiblities! Well then, for now I'm hitting the books...only this time, I'm gonna do it willingly. LOL. Till then...take care folks!

P.S: Shim! Send me those 'neo-prints' we took!

FINALLY,I'M FREE!!! *Heck. I actually summed it all up in just 3 words*

I finally got my life back. Those 2 yrs in JC, all that last minute mugging for A( which btw I think it wun yield much results)...sheer living hell. But for a second, I felt a little sad. 2 years really do fly by, and I really regret not putting in more effort and being more serious in my studies. But well, no time for 'post-mortem' nor moaning over spilt milk. I've got so many things I wanna do like:

1) Shopping.

Really need to change my entire wardrobe which sadly consists of a few miserable tees, jeans and skirts which aren't my cutting(as in not flattering LOL... :P) made up mostly of class tees, PE shirt and orientation tees
2) Reading
If I have enough pocket money I might invest in a really good book. Well, that's empty talk cuz I'd most prolly borrow tons of books from the National Library. Yes, I'm deprived literally. Man, it's so difficult to get great books these days. I'm so freaking hungry for books...on this note..i meant REAL non-fiction books with content that I can easily comprehend and that strikes a chord. No more endless(or should I say mindless) lecture notes-reading! LOL. Goodbye to all my lecture notes! I'd haf already forgotten all bout you guys and prolly wun rmb you guys fer the next century? LOL. Talking about note, I reckon I'm not gonna throw em away anytime soon cuz I actually coughed up sweat and blood(literally) for 'em. It'll be like dumping cold, hard cash into the bin which isn't geographically(env) nor economically logical.
3) Consume VCDs/CDs/DVDs
Yes. The all-time favorite past time of full-time couch potatoes. I'm gonna get my hands on the taiwanese serial "Er Zuo Ju Zhi Wen". LOL. And I wanna rent tons of english movies buy bags of popcorns and engage in some serious couch potato-ing.
4) Surf every single nook and cranny of the Internet
Well, literally. LOL. You get the gist though, doncha?
5) Catch SEA games
Yes! SEA games. Singapore! Show us some gold! Esp fer soccer, LIONS ROAR!!!
6) Visit Grandma
It's been so long since I visited her. Should make a trip to her house someday.
7)Find a job after holidays
Find a real kick-ass job which requires little work high pay good welfare. LOL...who am i kidding? It's Singapore. Singaporeans prolly rank #1 in terms of exploiting human resources without a doubt.
8) Buy that model Vespa
Yes. I'm gonna satisfy my passion for vintage scooters, well practically all things vintage. I'm gonna build one meself from scratch. LOL. Such satisfaction.
9) Sing! Sing! Sing!
*Self-explanatory*
10) Catch up with me mates
Catch up on the good ole days...LOL check out the latest updates on gossip/entertainment and more! End this endless longing fer me mates.
A list of 10 to-do items. Which means I'm gonna need tons of cash fer them. I'd prolly hafta rack my brains on how to distribute my money evenly...stretch whatever I have left for as long as possible. LOL. No worries though, I'm sure things will work out themselves somehow.
A-N-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-I-O-N. *smiles gleefully*
It's tata school HELLO WORLD!

, 11:18 AM

Finished my Econs Paper 3 essay section today. Well, when I did it I thought I made some sense. But after the paper, my friends sorta did a post-mortem..LOL and it made me realise I bombed question 4. LOL. Heck. I bombed it yet again.

As if that wasn't a serious blow to me. When I boarded 853, it was packed full with Zhonghuarians. I can safely say that ALL of them were engaging deep conversation of their A Math paper. Given that they said stuff like" A intersect B then union C' yada yada yada....."

I'm telling you other than the Uni, the next best place to listen in to some intellectually stimulating( if not challenging, since it's Math) content will be 853. And so for the next 45 mins of my bus ride home, I listened to the post-mortem analysis of both the O Level A Math paper and the A Level Econs paper. And from what I gathered( I wasn't eavesdropping...they were really loud), I figured that 1) I wasn't the only one to bomb both questions 2) A Math was relatively easy.

Based on my observation, there're 4 different kinds of people on 853 ( I mean based on today's ride only)

  1. The Hailers.
  2. The Silencer
  3. The Acrobats
  4. The Silent Ones

The Hailers. These are the loud-mouthed bunch who dissect and study every little minute detail of their exam paper. Well, basically, they did a molecule-by-molecule cross examination on every single question. At the end of my bus-ride, most of the pple on 853 would prolly be enlightened about the wonders/horrors of A Math. Yes, bus driver incl. There are 2 different types of Hailers. 1) Worry worts. Discussin ONLY what's in their exam paper 2) The mcCools. These are the ones who constantly remind their counterparts how badly they'd fared and din give a damn about it and went on boastin bout their post-exam plans/escapades, and their loyal fans will listen to them all starry-eyed and mouths agape.

The Silencer. Well, basically these are the bunch of peeps who single out the Hailers( they prolly know each other) and shush em' out. LOL. If you ask me, they did a pretty bad job cuz the Hailers juz went on and on and on and.....LOL. If you ask me, I guess there's another reason why they bothered to shut the Hailers up other than reducing noise pollution...they prolly did real bad in the paper and din wanna know the CORRECT way it's done.

The Acrobats. Yup as the name suggests, these are the ones who exhibit their acrobatic prowess in full display. LOL. They kinda reminded me of the animal kingdom where the dominant male monkeys do the exact same thing to attract any potential mate. LOL. The only discrepancy...it's not mating season cuz the girls are still doin the post-mortem of their paper, and so the Acrobats were sorta non-existent.

The Silent Ones. These are the solo peeps on board 853 who 1) Alone and has no mate to do their cross-examination with 2) Sleeping/ pretended to be asleep. LOL...i belong to the latter ( pretending to be asleep). These are the ones who silently blend in with their surroundings and listen in to the Hailer's conversation, sifting out valuable info and doing a mental checklist as they go along. For example, one of the Hailers said" A intersect A intersect B union C'" and they'll go " heck. One down." in their minds.

LOL. These guys really brightened my otherwise boring journey home. Refreshing!Ahhhh~ stay tuned for more news mobile on 853 tomorrow.

And FINALLY! The official countdown begins! Counting 5.....4....3...2..1.

LOL...well, it'd prolly feel like eternity b4 it finally reaches ZERO.

Watched a couple of really awesome movies on ch5 yesterday! The first was 'Double Take' and 'Frequency'. Double Take was one kick-ass comedy/crime investigation sorta movie...this wall-street guy was framed of somethin he OBVIOUSLY din do and den he met this ex-FBI agent who was sacked on the pretext tt he's a lil cranky mentally...LOL...this duo's really one lethal combination! God. I was lwft larfin all the way thruout da show. LOL...I SALUTE ALL AFRO-AMERICANS BABY! They're the epitome of wittiness(?) and humor!

Frequency! God...tt guy/gal who wrote this muz really be a helluva genius! The plot's so darn intriguing! This 36 yr old cop from 1999 came across his dad's old transistor/broadcasting radio and he actually communicated with his fireman dad from the past(1969 to be exact). Now this fireman was supposed ta die from a fire in 1969 but his son(the cop) managed to convince him he's his son from the future and warned him of the danger and miraculously! He saved his dad!. That was great news until...the cop realised they've upsetted history and everything started to change...for the worse. When they changed history...it somehow sparked off a chain of murders and his mum got entangled in this murder plot. And yada yada yada...they somehow saved their mum/wife thru ONE baseball game...LOL well go watch it!

Frequency was def the better movie to me in terms of depth and the personal experience I guess...Dennis Quaid hit the home-run again in this show( he played the fireman dad btw). Moral of the story: DO NOT change history unless you're smart/willing to work out the consequences tt follow. But hey, think about it..it was well worth it..he actually got back his Dad who was supposed ta be dead in 1969!

LOL. But personally I doubt I'd wanna change history though...why change history when you can change and mould your future? Hahaz...the future is a LOT more intriguing and exciting than the long-doggone past.

P/S: Look out fer Delores( the white doggy) whom tt cranky FBI affectionately calls bitch. LOL.

REDS SMASH THREE PAST ANDERLECHT
01 November 2005

Goals from Fernando Morientes, Luis Garcia and Djibril Cisse were enough to ensure Liverpool remain on course for the last 16 of the Champions League but after Chelsea lost 1-nil in Spain, we'll have to wait at least another fortnight.

The first goal from Morientes – a great finish from the right-hand side of the penalty box after 33 minutes - was the Spaniard's 59th in the Champions League proper and his third for Liverpool this season, after scoring two against CSKA Sofia in an earlier qualifying round. It was no more than the No.19 deserved after another tireless display leading Liverpool's attack.
Against West Ham at the weekend, Morientes did everything but score and tonight against Anderlecht the added the finish that will work wonders for his confidence.
The only downside for the striker on a night to remember will have been the kick that he took just minutes after scoring from Bart Goor that eventually led to him being substituted after just 51 minutes. The game was as good as over on the hour mark when Garcia beat Hannu Tihinen in the air from a Steve Finnan cross before brilliantly heading the ball beyond Silvio Proto in the Anderlect goal.
After a Man of the Match performance against West Ham, Garcia not only scored tonight but delivered another mouth-watering European performance.
The final goal of the game - coming from substitute Djibril Cisse after 89 minutes after a great pass from Harry Kewell - capped another great night in Europe for Rafael Benitez's side. Having never kept a clean sheet in England, never mind actually won a match on English soil, the odds were always going to be stacked against an Anderlecht win at Anfield – particularly when they were reduced to 10 men following the sending off of Nenad Jestrovic after 71 minutes - but for Rafael Benitez, the sight of his team sitting pretty at the top of what was labelled the 'Group of Death' will be a pleasing one.
The fact that a Chelsea win in Spain would have guaranteed Liverpool a place in the last 16 was obviously lost on the majority of fans who cheered the result when it came in from Spain. Maybe the fans on the Kop are hoping history can repeat itself and - for the second year running - Liverpool can end Chelsea's Champions League hopes when the two sides meet in December.

The music's on full blast as I'm typing all these down. It helps to numb my pain and also to prevent myself from thinking about the damage done during today's A Level Higher Chinese Paper. I really regret not working on it earlier.
Heck.
If only I'd started on Monday. If only I'd taken it seriously right from the very start. If only I'd started doing and reading whatever the teacher tells us to. Would things have been different?
God, please help me get at least a D. Tell me I can get over my A Levels and let me at least get a lil spot in Uni. I'd be lost if I've nowhere to go.
Haiz...and I only have myself to blame.
Please let me get at least a D. I mean it.
Oh God, please help me be strong and help me help myself get over this safe and sound for I won't know where to go or what to do if I do fall outta da box.
*sighs* If only...
God.Is it too late?
