Hey fellas, I'm back home after my final paper. Well, this semester had been a disaster, a tota nightmare, nuff' said, I'll just move on and bear the consequences later on. Again. Please let me passss this semester! =)

Okay, more on the CL Semi-finals 1st leg Chelski 1-0 Liverpool

All I can say is THANK YOU PEPE! Otherwise it could well have been waaay more than 1-0. I don't know about you guys, but Zenden has been...mediocre? He's like this gap in the link, just notice how many times he break the flow/momentum of the game, frustrating to say the least. Oh and I think I'm missing some of Luis Garcia's creativity in attack, but he's sideline for a ruptured something-something ligament in his right knee T_T He's one of my favorite players, and he's injured. And I wanna see Finnan in Arbeloa's place instead, I just feel Stevie G and Arbie isn't the best set-up.

Let's look forward to the 2nd Leg come 1st May (Labor Day!)! C'mon Livers!

I'm waiting for my Liverpool FC jersey to come home, my mum went for my Sam Kao Gong (cantonese for my grandmother' sister's husband)'s funeral, he passed away yesterday morning. He had cancer of the stomach, but we respected his decision not to go for treatment, so basically, he's just taking supplements. I think he's really brave, but I think all of us thinks he wanna let nature take its own course, Sam Yi Ma's death dealt him a heavy blow. I hope he's happy together with Sam Yi Ma where they are right now. Will be attending the final day of the funeral this Sunday.

Phew~ I'm sleepy! And the weather's not helping one bit! -_-

Champions League Semi-Finals 1st Leg:

Chelsea FC 1-0 Liverpool FC

Shall blog on this when I'm done with my last paper later today. For now, I'm going to share with you guys a piece of reaaaally good news, then go back to panicking and do more last-minute studying of notes. Will I absorb better if I eat them? I can't seem to get anything into my brain and god I'm freaking out. This is the worst semester (only had 2 semesters), as in reaaaally bad, I just hope I scrape a pass to the next semester, then I'll be more serious then (I hope). So God, PLEASE LET ME PASS THIS SEM!

Good news:

I'M GETIING MY LIVERPOOL FC JERSEY! THE CURRENT VERSION!

Haha yay! My aunt got it for me in Hong Kong, and she got a Manure Utd one for my cousin, Kenneth, Kevin Kor, Jeremy the stinky Manure Utd alliance -_-" Geezus I can't even imagine the Liverpool FC jersey being in the same luggage as Manure Utd's.

And now, let the panicking begin! Well, after the exam I'm gonna tar pao Macdonald's from school! Upsized! =)

There have been some serious rumors going around that Manure...oops I mean Manchester United is interested in Michael Owen! I hope he doesn't move to Manure United, even though my mind says that it would be the best opportunity for him to get back to top-flight EPL football scene again, but my heart says he should NEVER, NEVER, EVER move to Maure Utd! It's for his best interests at heart, he might jolly well get stoned to death if he steps into Anfield again, AGAINST Liverpool. That will be my greatest nightmare. I don't want a love-hate relationship with my first soccer idol.

What in the world is Manure thinking? I bet there's some conspiracy going on! Maybe Manure spread those rumours themselves to play a mind game, to get the Liverpool lads back at home feeing a lil' jittery and unsettled. I mean it's odd to me that Manure would be interested in Michael Owen, he's undoubtedly an awesome striker, but there are one hundred and one reasons (maybe even more) why it doesn't make sense. I've consolidated some of them:

  1. I doubt Newcastle will sell Owen, since Newcastle's prolly gonna have a Obafemi Martins-Michael Owen setup. Attracting stars like Michael Owen isn't easy for a club like Newcastle considering the fact that they're not in the Champions League. If Owen's staying in Newcastle, they're a team to look out for next season, that is if Owen can survive w/o an injury.
  2. It is no myth that he's prolly one of the, if not THE most injury-prone striker in the EPL, literally out of soccer action for 10 months plus since the World Cup. Why would Newcastle wanna let him go after all the medical treatment and costs incurred on him? Conversely, why would Manure Utd splurge money on an injury-riddled striker who's sat out for almost a year, managing less than 20 league games in 2 seasons?
  3. Manure United already has a consistent and effective strikeforce, why would Fiery Fergie wanna change that? That is unless he wanna pull off one of Rafa's notorious rotation policies, which I doubt he will since Fiery Fergie's the classic and conventional kinda managers, takes no risks.
  4. Remember that Rooney-Owen gambling debt scandal? Fiery Fergie obviously isn't too pleased in Owen then, why the interest now?
  5. Louis Saha's pretty injury-prone, why get another injury-prone striker? Makes no sense, be it dollars or sense.
  6. He's a born and bred Liverpool lad, never in history has that happen in Anfield history. With the exception of Paul Ince, who moved from Manure Utd to Liverpool.
  7. I don't want him to move to Manure Utd. If Fowler can make it back to Liverpool, I always harbor this hope that I can see him don that Red jersey once again. I think Rafa has silent contemplation to sign on Owen, not now, maybe in future once he's playing consistent football.

Moving to Manure Utd would mean playing in the Champions League, which is I think, a dream for all soccer players. A move to Manure would mean a loss of prolly all of the Liverpool fans (still supporting him).

My Mikey Is Moving to Manure (sing to the tune of "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean")

My Mikey is moving to Manure

Is Mikey truly going to leave?

My Mikey is moving to Manure

Oh bring back my Mikey to me

Bring back oh bring back oh Bring back my Mikey to me, to me

Bring back oh bring back oh Bring back my Mikey to me~

Went to meet up with Bobo to study at Bishan library, wanted to grab some reference books there too since I choose not to buy them for school. Haha our attempt at studying? Let's just say it pretty much blew. Haha at least I got those books. Bobo, get a good rest and drink lotsa warm water then study yeah?

We switched place since we can't get anything into our brains in the 'capsule', went over to Macs for lunch. Studies vs Food, food wins hands down. LOL. It was packed with secondary school students, and boy, were they noisy or what! Haha but I guess we were like that once X). I had Filet-O-Fish meal upsized, this Macs guy with a palm top took my order, then when I paid it's only $4.90 so I think he assumed I'm a student or something. See, it isn't that bad to not look matured, at least I can enjoy student privileges without bringing out my student card. XD

Started raining again, haha not that I'm complaining I love rainy days, feels...good? Haha went home then my sis and I went out together with Mum, accompany her take bus then we went to the library to get my last book for my exams prep. XD

Munched on chips while we walked back home, quite a distance. We were gonna reach the traffic lights near my block when my sis yelled "Where's my Patrick?" Haha FYI, Patrick is this patrick (yes, Spongebob's best friend in Bikini Bottom) keychain/handphone accessory that she hangs on her phone. So we back tracked and look who we found on the grass patch at the other end of the traffic light?

Patrick, face down! LMAO! Looked damn funny! XD

Patrick walks home and takes the lift...

Weee~ Outta the lift!

Phew! Home sweet home! The End.

Haha we must be reaaaally bored, either that or we're just plain looney. XD

Along the way we passed by this monsoon drain, and I spotted these words on the railing. It read: Try it. This river has fish in it. Try to catch it. LMAO!?!?! Very funny, whoever wrote this. -_-"

Ahhhh~ 3,2,1 BEEP! Mug-A-ton begins! T_T

Champions League Q-Finals 2nd Leg
Liverpool FC 1-0 PSV Eindhoven

Aggregate score: LFC 4-0 PSV

CALLING ALL FELLOW LIVERS, WE ARE THROUGH TO THE SEMI-FINALS. I REPEAT, WE ARE THROUGH TO THE SEMI-FINALS.

Pennant and Crouch created lotsa chances for us, Pennant has gotta be the most underrated player in Anfield, he's kinda low profile but just watch him weave his way through the right flank. Crouchy is proving himself RAFA WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SEE THAT!?! Pennant is trained to aim his goals at the goalkeeper it seems, 2 goals right into Gomes, haha but I applaud his efforts.
Poor Marcellis (PSV) got sent off, quite shocking for the referee (Italian I think) to show him the red, for his challenge against Zenden, think he purely got his timing off. Well, better luck next time, think it was his debut for PSV? He must be so pissed.

And so, we're gonna meet Chelski AGAIN in the Champs League semis, I've got a funny feeling about this, can't really put it to words. Can I PLEASE witness a repeat of our epic comeback triumph over AC Milan in Istanbul 2005 again? Haha that'll be so, so, so awesome!

Reds show them what we've got and end Chelski's hopes of bagging all 4 trophies please, they're so not getting a home run, pouty Mourinho and his bunch of spoilt, rich kids.

Oh yeah Rafa, in case you didn't know Crouchy just bagged 6 goals, making him the 2nd topscorer along with Morientes (he actually used to be one of us! Though I'm not missing him after he packed off to Valencia), Rude Ruud (Manure) and Drogba (one of the brats from Chelski). Kaka playing for AC Milan (I gotta admit, he's way hot but I'm still faithful to his Brazilian counterpart, RONALDO!) is currently the topscorer with 7 goals. With Liverpool going strong in the game, I think that record's gonna change reaaaally soon.
All I wanna say is, Crouchy isn't a joke, stop the jokes about him being the beanpole of Anfield thankyouverymuch. =)
Good luck my Anfield lads. See you guys at Stamford Bridge on 25th April! God speed!
I so wanna read Gerrard's autobiography, A-Z of Liverpool's Greatest Pictures and the The Little Book of Liverpool. I saw these jewels in the official Livepool FC website, I'm gonna hunt for them after the exams!

Wednesday, April 11, 2007 , 3:55 PM

Hey fellas! Amidst the exam rush hour, I thought I'd add something fun in my blog, just so that I can come in here and relax a lil' while I'm preparing for my semestral war. If you guys are bored or if you have nothing else to do, scroll down and you can watch 12 short clips of Nike Japan's commercials, featuring this corroke (Japanese snack) doing all kinds of sports, haha hilarious to the max. Below that is a coloring book game, color the afro-hair kid and submit and it'll go into the gallery where anyone can view. Bored? Give it a shot. X)

Back to the books (or slides) for now~ ;)

Hang in there! It'll be over before you know it.

Sunshine is waaaaaaaay HOTTTTTT! GO CATCH THE MOVIE!

Capa's message before going into the 'dead zone'

Sunshine Trailer

Sunshine Trailer 2

Caught the movie "Sunshine" yesterday, it was a very impactful movie for me, the effects and the images of the Sun (of which some are real from NASA and ESA) are simply breathtaking, and throughout the entire movie, it's just one helluva roller coaster ride into space man. In the beginning you think this is gonna be another Armageddon-like movie, then the next WHAM BAM BAM, brings you to helluva turning point here and there, and at the end of it all, yur heart is pumping and yes, you're rendered spechless. Haha trust me, when the crew members slowly die one by one, you simply don't have time to weep or tear, there's just so much going on. Heck, I'm so gonna but the DVD when it's out. Go to a good movie theater for this, it'll be worth every penny, you know how in cinemas there's this dead silence (filter out the popcorn-munching sounds and the oohs and ahhs), and the awesome sound effects and visuals, you'd feel like just walked right into space.

One word, breathtaking. I'm a huge sci-fi (war and action movies come in a close second and third) fan, but this just nailed it for me. It brings back memories of my Astronomy classes last semester of the Sun, where our lecturer showed us docu-movies/dramas about the Sun, where we learnt a lil' about a dying star, red giants, supernova and all that blah. It was nothing like Sunshine, not even close, cus' for the docus we saw in lecture, it felt more like an observation of the Sun from a safe distance. With Sunshine, you feel like you're the 9th crew member on board the Icarus II, the awesome effects and the oh-so-realistic set makes you feel like you're in it, seeing what they're seeing, feeling what they're feeling. Haha for whoever that's gonna watch the movie soon, DO NOT VENTURE FURTHER CUS' THIS POST CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS. =)

Icarus II is a space mission to reignite our dying Sun, after a previous mission the Icarus I failed its mission 7 years ago due to reasons unknown (later revealed how in a shocking revelation). Icarus II is the last hopefor Earth cus' we've already exhausted all the Uranium on Earth. These 8 people contains crew members from all over the world, haha the papers are all raving about the multi-cultural cast on set, which gives a little more depth and realism to the movie plot and character development.

After they passed the Dead Zone (the region where no signals can be sent or received from Earth due to the massive and powerful solar winds emanating from the Sun), they received a weak distress call from the Icarus I and they decided to change their trajectory and send themselves on a slingshot to Icarus I. And that stupid Trey, did so many complex calculations and measurements of angles to see if they could still complete mission after going to Icarus 1, amidst all that, he actually forgot the simplest and most basic task of changing the alignment of the shield. Without this sield, they'll literally fry in all that UV radiation. Trey just broke down psychologically and he went "I FUCKED UP! I FUCKED UP!"

And so they had to change the alignment of the shield manually, that's when 4 of the panels corked up so the captain (Hiroyuki Sanada, his acting is awesome, the calm and composed, very captain-like) and Capa (played by Cillian Murphy, get lost in his oh-so-hauntingly-blue eyes) the physicist and the only guy who knows how to operate the payload (i.e. the bomb), had to go out and rectify the problem. But a technical problem came up and the shields started altering its alignment and within minutes they were going to be exposed to the Sun and the solar winds, Captain Kaneda is so frigging noble!!! He told Capa to go back cus' he's the only on who knows how to activate the payload, and he stayed behind to rectify the last panel. This shocking scene is the first of many others to come in the movie, when you see how the Sun's UV radiation and Solar winds reachig him (at the background the suit goes 97% exposure to Sun, 0.000XX% of survival), it's breathtaking but at the same time, shocking and unnerving. To be honest, I felt more fear than sadness. Speechless.

Another scene which was memorable was the part where they reached Icarus 1 and when they entered right, there was a hell lot of dust, and one of them went "80% of the dust that you see here is human skin". Then another technical cork up and they had to return back to Icarus II manually since it drifted away, so they had to manually return to Icarus II, but they've only got one suit left and Capa had to wear it (payload operator), then the second captain Harvey don't wanna die so he command him to get out of that suit, haha but lucky Mace thought of an idea and ripped the solar-protective material and wrapped themselves in it. The plan is for them to cling on to Capa and the pressure will pull them back into Icarus II. But one of them had to stay behind to align the entrance of Icarus I with II and open the door, and Searle damn steady lar, Harvey was saying how he didn't wanna be the one, and Searle just said "I'll go", and he said it like he was just gonna fix a broken pipe or something. Then Searle walked into the observation room (where they could observe the sun behind special filters at various intensity accoding to how you want it), and he sat there and turn the filter off to literally expose himself to the Sun and disintegrate. Salute to him man.

Harvey damn suay lar, cus' he lost grip of Capa and drifted away, Capa only managed to pull Mace back, then you can actually see Harvey open his eyes and get out of his solar thingy and he froze to death, and you can see the water vapour escape into space and freeze man, then when his arm crashed onto part of the ship he broke into pieces man and the people sitting behind were going "Woah SHIT!".

Another one was they lost oxygen, so they didn't have enough oxygen, so 3 members had to be sacrificed lar, so 2 died now they had to kill off one more and that person is Trey. Then they were like voting to kill him off or not, Mace volunteered to kill him, but when he went to look for Trey right he'd already self-mutilated and killed himself. Think Trey's quite pitiful also, cus' he took responsibility and knew full well that oxygen wasn't enough. But the ship was still sounding the alarm how there wasn't enough oxygen, Capa told Icarus (the ship's system) Trey died there's only 4 left on board, then Icarus replied "Negative. There's a 5th crew on board". OMFG! At that part right I knew what a chill down your spine felt like lar! Then Capa asked where the 5th crew is and he was directed to the observatin room. That part when you saw that 5th person who was the sole survivor of the Icarus I mission, his skin is like seriously sunburnt like those 3rd degree burns, somehow he survived lar that Chao Tar Man.

This Chao Tar Man is crazy lar, he was going how they can't oppose God and if he wanted them to die they shouldn't go against the Will and whatnot and that was how he sabotaged the Icarus I mission like that son of a bitch. So scary, then this slasher flick thing began, freakin' chao tar man on the loose. So Capa got chased and he locked him in a portal. And that Chao Tar Man killed Michelled Yeoh. Then the Chao Tar Man went to shut down the systems, and the machines are losing coolent, so Mace had to dive under the coolent (ULTRA COLD LIQUID) to fix it, he got the ship running again then when he tried to crawl out of it his legs got obstructed by something and he froze to death.

Now there's only Capa, Cassie and that Chao Tar Man on board. Capa was locked in so he had to unscrew the bolts and open the door to let the pressure from space burst open the other door so he could get in. Haha so he wore that gold and ultra bulky suit, then when everything was sucked out into space, you can see Michelle Yeoh flying out man. So as they're approaching the Sun, Capa had to activate the payload. So Capa went to dislodge the ship from the payload. He entered the payload and there was no turning back, he found Cassie and Chao Tar Man was there. That Chao Tar Man still tried to stop them lor that freak, then before Cassie collapsed she said "You must complete the mission", so Capa struggled to the operating room to activate the payload. At that final moment right, when the bombs got activated and you can see the whole thing lighting up, everything was golden and so freakin' beautiful, yeah he's dying but weirdly, there was this calm and serenity, you could see the inside of the Sun, how the particles are reacting with matter from the bomb. At that scene, the entire cinema lapsed into dead silence lar, it was so powerful man that part.

Sunshine is one helluva movie, left me spellbound after the movie, heart rate's prolly 200 man. This movie is simply stunning, you guys should really go catch it.

Found this excerpt from this Sunshine website which Gia Millinovich has set up and maintained for months which somehow explained the impact of the film. This webby has many resources to the movie, and background info on some Science facts and stuff, they've got videos and image galleries in there as well, go check it out! http://www.sunshinedna.com/

Here goes:

Boyle was drawn to both the Icarus II’s literal voyage to the Sun as well as its crew’s psychological journey as they head out across the cosmos. “Traveling to the Sun is great visually, but also very interesting psychologically,” he explains. “We wanted to make the film as psychological a journey as possible. There is the question about what happens to your mind when you meet the creator of all things in the universe, which for some people is a spiritual, religious idea, but for other people it is a purely scientific idea. We are all made up of particles of exploded star, so what would it be like to get close to the Sun, the star from which all the life in our solar system comes from? I thought it would be a huge mental challenge to try and capture that.”

The part where we're all made of particles of the exploded star is true, lecturer once said that for our Astro lecture. Carl Sagan summed it all up, "We are all made of star stuff". This is pretty shocking revelation, since whatever atoms we're made of, our food, water, mountains, television, whatever there is are made of atoms which came from the supernova. This is freakin' cool stuff man.

OMG! I can't wait for the DVD!

Hahas didn't realize I've actually MIA-ed for so long virtually until I came to check my bloggy. Hahas hence, I'm back with a new post! (^0^)_/` Hello everyone again! Welcome back! I think I wanna change my blog address, I thought 'charayo' was the Korean equivalent of Jia You...hahas according to my cousin, then she realized it wasn't. -_-" LOL. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change a blog address but still retain the archives and stuff? Hmm...

Here's a pretty interesting extract outtaa book I read while I was taking a dump. Can you imagine? I was inspired by this while...as I said, taking a dump. This is a fine example of toilet inspiration/enlightenment. XD Here goes...

"Reaching Beyond" By Suzy Sutton

Do you reach beyond to touch the sky,
or you lag behind, afraid to try?
Do you reach beyond to learn anew,
or hesitate-the same old you?
Do you reach beyond to test your limit,
or do you tell yourself, I'm timid?
Do you reach beyond to lead the pack,
or do you waste time looking back?
Do you reach beyond and strive to find
better ways to stretch your mind?
Do you reach beyond to care and share
and help some others do and dare?
Do you reach beyond, expect the best,
or have you given up the quest?
Do you reach beyond and claim your space,
here and now, this time, this place?
Do you reach beyond and try to soar,
or sadly, play it safe once more?

Well, I don't know about you guys but I think I belong to the latter as much as I hate to admit. It's always safer and easier to stay in the box, you know, especially for lazy people like me. I mean you gotta sacrifice some stuff, and go the extra mile if you wanna change course and leave your comfort zone, right? I guess most of us aren't willing to do so, yet. Maybe in the future? Again, maybe. Hahas I've many aspirations and dreams that never really transformed into action, somehow they merely exist in ...again, dreams. Well, I take the occasional path of not following the norm, sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't, but nevertheless, it was helluva ride knowing full well that you're doing stuff that people don't usually do or choose not to do. So when you're a lil' bored with the drudgery of very much routine kinda life, try changing lanes or switching gears, maybe just maybe, you'd discover a path or horizon unforseen by the masses. Even if you fall, heck it at least you'be been there done that. Hahas oh well, yeah I thought of all that while...taking a dump. =D

Cool, exams are exactly 2 weeks away. 14 days. The semestral war's gonna be launched on the 18th April. Crikes. I guess this semester will most prolly be worse than the last, I guess I was just lucky in the previous semester. Haha I'll need nothing short of a miracle to at least clinch GPA 3.0 and above, okay either that or shitloads of hardwork and mental strength man. Of which, I have neither. Boo yeah! But well, I'm still gonna give it my best shot, with whatever memory of the lectures and texts I've read (okay, I read most of my texts online, the boon or bane of the internet whichever way you look at, they provide summaries of novels and stuff man, for me, I'd rather take the easy way out thank you very much).

Hahas I wanna study hard, I really do for various obvious and some not so obvious reasons. But how many times have I said that and then trail off to games, food, play, whatever? LOL. Answer: Infinite. GOD SAVE THE LAZY! I believe I am a sloth in my previous life. But when you know that whatever you do, no matter how spectacular you've done it, you're gonna just end up with a (most probably) office-bound job, get laid and then yeah...get incinerated. Haha so there really isn't much motivation to get us lazy bums moving, since, the outcome of the lot of us are prolly gonna be the same. See, I'm giving myself an excuse to slack off, this is the mark of a TRUE BLUE sloth T_T. Okay, I'm gonna end this, somehow, somewhere this has gotta stop. I was a sloth in my previous life, I can't possibly be a sloth AGAIN in this life, right? I don't wanna go to heaven (pretty please) and see my fellow sloth friends in my previous life who're now successful businessmen or women and whatever-successful-people boast about their stellar achievements and when they ask me what did I do, and I'd go =x In short, I WANNA DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY FOR ONCE AND WORK HARD AND ENJOY THE FRUITS OF MY LABOR! I just hope it's not too late to get my ass moving now. Move it, move it! XD

To all you poor fellas taking the exam soon, don't just go down without a fight yeah? Hahas I'm done here, take care everybody! ;)
