21st Dec '07 Early Christmas with the Martinis
Met up with the Martinis for an early Christmas dinner at Fish & Co. We waited quite awhile before we finally got our seats. Pity we didn'tget the top-floor seats! Haha the live band was... to say the least LOUD. They put us right in front of the entrance initially and we were really near to the band but they were so LOUD we had to shout across the table just to order something, much less chat, so we requested for a change of table. This time, we sat right in front of the freezer shelf where they placed canned beers and desserts (for takeaways), the door to the kitchen was like 10 feet away. Lol!
I ordered New York Fish & Chips, Yutini and I wanted to order beer or anything with alcohol in it but changed our minds cus' we planned to go get some drinks after fishing. That sure is some self-control, huh? Haha. I love the cheesy fish fillet, but it sure was super oily. I think Fish & Co's serving kinda shrunk? Anyhoo, the cheesy fishy with Fish & Co's tartar sauce(there's something magical about the Tartar sauce there I tell you!) is oh-so-appetizing!!! I'm gonna salivate just thinking about it. T_T
What's a girl's favorite post-dinner entertainment? Peektures taking! Took pictures right outside Fish & Co and that landmark LOVE sculpture. In the process, I actually TOUCHED Rootini's FINGERNAILS! Hahaha cus' they were telling us to do the 'heart' pose and it just happened. That's gotta be my WTH? moment of year 2007. Lol!
Crossed over to PS awhile later, more peektures taking. There was this makeshift veranda thingy outside PS and there were like lights all over, what a waste of electricity, but yeah there's nothing to make the atmosphere more christmassy than lights, lights and more lights! Yuntini suggested to head over to Giraffe but it isn't really that good an idea for our pockets so we headed back to PS, wanted to go to Carrefour to get a 6-pack but there wasn't many places for us to chill. Alas, we landed in KFC. Haha chilling at KFC late into the night's pretty dope. ;)
22nd Dec '07 Ah Shing's birthday celebration cum Christmas dinner
Met up with the Vultures! And I was EARLY! Haha ok well not early in the conventional sense, but in a Smelly sense. Shimmy and Ah Shing were still on their way so we headed to Sizzler first cus' we wanted to have the free salad bar and soup and dessert thingy. We had to wait a lil' while for our table to be laid out, and there was this HUGE group of NS men trying to work out their bill and their total came up to like $700++, like OMG? Hahaha they were standing around at the table near the entrance, trying to sort out who's to pay how much and stuff, they took around 15 mins to settle it. Lol their method was kinda interesting, those who'd settled their bill went out to Sizzler, so you can see them exit Sizzler one by one. Lol?
I ordered the Swiss Grilled Chicken (super nice! Grilled chicken with Swiss cheese and bacon strips, nothing can go wrong with this combo!), yep more cheese. Haha! Shimmy caught up with us soon after and we charged for the soup. The clam chowder's superb, tip: scoop deep into the pot cus' that's where the clams are lurking ;). Most of us were finishing up on our main course and Ah Shing finally arrived! Haha Ah Shing the McMuffin killer, poor Zlink, we empathise with you. Lol. Then Ah Shing told us this really interesting story (it really made a lot of sense!), there was this relative of her colleague's colleague who had passed away and told her colleague's colleague in a dream to NOT waste food cus' you're gonna eat those food you wasted when you go to H-E-L-L (Mr Lee Mou Choon). Hahaha and we actually crapped a lot about that. XD And Xinyi dropped a bomb on us! We're super happy for her, you gotta be blissful always ok! Haha some of us are still happy pedestrians. XD But we decided that Ah Shing's SIA, Shimmy's a NASA space rocket (own time own target somemore!) lol! Oh so scandalous! After crapping, updating and eating at Sizzler from lunch to dinner time, we headed to the fountain of wealth area to take peektures! Sat down and chatted, while we decided where to next. Xinyi had to leave a lil' earlier to meet a certain (special) someone. ;D Shimmy initially wanted to drink coffee but changed her mind after almost reaching Gelare, so all of us moved to McDs instead.
Haha after settling in, none of us are willing to move, much less order anything. Shimmy and Renmin finally ordered shaker fries, Renmin needed one more MacD point to order the shaker fries! Haha polished every single fry and we decided it wasn't enough so Ah Shing, Zlink and I pooled money to order 2 more shaker fries. Haha then crapped somemore, and even watched Shimmy 'emo'. Lol and yeah 22nd Dec is an auspicious day. XD Initially planned to ton at Ah Shing and Zlink's dorm on the 24th, but couldn't make it cus' will be going to a family dinner then the Martinis. Wanted to take the last train out to Harborfront but figured I really couldn't make it for the last bus out to NUS so had to miss it. Ton next time k!
23rd Dec '07 AMK Hub, Chilean red wine. Went down to AMK hub with Mee and Nut. Haha christmas shopping. Got new PJs, shorts (super comfy at a super reasonable price). We always get good stuff with FOC with Mee. :D Bought a bottle of Chilean red wine, full bodied red wine! Took away KFC family feast for dinner.
Reached home and we couldn't find the godforsaken wine bottle opener!!! Hahaha Nut and I really wanted alcohol so much we actually went down to the mama stall and asked if they have it, REJECTION! So we walked to 7-11 then NTUC and asked if they have it, REJECTION! We were in lok kok PJs-worthy and slippers, then we made a crazy decision to walk all the way out to Northpoint's coldstorage to get the holy wine bottle opener. We were walking like maniacs man cus' it was nearing 11pm, and my feet suffered some nasty blisters (told you I'm not a slippers kinda person! It'll always gonna be sneaks for me!). Finally got it and took a bus back. Yep first thing we did was to open and drink to our hearts' content. Hahaha the whole thing was super fun.
24th~25th~26th Dec '07 Christmas Eve Reached Yuntini's house like super late. Actually went back to Yishun from Thomson area to take 853 to Serangoon. Hahaha it was 10pm by the time I got on the bus. T_T I drank a lil' before that and slept on the bus cus' it was so comfy. Haha reached there and Yuntini wasn't back yet so we played some games by the pool area. And I realised I always say 'pi la'!
Then Yuntini's parents came down and called us to go up and we did! Yuntini's parents are always so hospitable, they took out drinks, mango, cookies, chips and stuff for us. :D Continued with our game, and it cracked us up man! Lol and we actually missed the countdown! Forgot what we were doing but we missed it! Hahaha then we called Yuntini and yelled Merry Christmas thru the phone. Lol!
She finally rushed back (like super quick!) and we opened the red wine (courtesy of Nana's dad's stash!), lol we struggled to open that darned thing (what's with red wine bottles man?!) and Yuntini's mum laughed at our miserable attempt. Finally popped it open! Watched some movies on cable and drank choya after finishing the red wine. We crashed at 3+ in the morning. Lol the alcohol was a high.
Woke up 9am the next morning and we had log cake for breakfast (how Christmassy can it get!?! Ho ho ho!). Watched this programme called Made something something on MTV, then Yuntini's mum ordered pizzas! I think we were still under alcoholic influence cus' we wanted to open the door and shout Merry Christmas at the deliveryman. Lol thankfully, we didn't! Or the uncle'll prolly drop our orders and take off man. Had lunch then packed up our stuff and went home. Haha poor Nana had to put up with me moaning about my 'bowel habits'. Lol!
Reached home late afternoon then Ron came over for a stayover. Haha gamed together! Ron brought the BLUE basketball over! Went to play basketball the next day. We shot some hoops then teamed up with these 2 kids who came by. The chinese boy's only primary 5 la! And the indian boy was sec 1. Made us feel super old. T_T Haha and kids these days ah...the pri 5 kid teamed up with me and he kept teasing Vinesh (the indian kid), calling him to go back to India. Lol! So we called the chinese kid Xiao Hong, hahaha Ron said he looked like those China acrobatic kids la! Shot hoops for hours there then a group of Malay kids came over and we played soccer instead. Haha and that Xiao Hong is super funny, I asked him if he wanna join our match then he asked me to look at the sign (there's this no soccer sign). Hahaha children are super cute la!
Thanks to basketball and soccer, my limb muscles are aching man, it didn't happen with badminton. That means I'm working my rarely used muscles! Hohoho! :DD
Went to meet up with Jamie and passed her the letters yesterday, bought Panadol and gotta rush home cus' my sister's temperature is rising. She vomitted the previous day but she didin't wanna go to the doc. Mum finally dragged her to see the doc and he suspects it's a virus, still doesn't know what's the problem but I'm sure it's all okay now. :)
On Man City vs Liverpool
Deja vu. I've lost count of the number of times we played super well and ended up not getting the well-deserved 3 points. Kewell, Masch, Aurelio and Carra did well last night! But I sure am missing Hyypia, our defense broke down horribly quite a few times. And I conclude that every ref in EPL hates us! I thought Kuyt had a great attempt at goal in the first half but other than that? Torres was seriously marked, Man City did an awesome job covering the field last night, Stevie could barely create space. Torres should just play it simple sometimes. Vassell's pace is crazy! We nearly got our 3 points in the dying minutes but was cleared right on the line of goal by Dunne. Dunne broke many many hearts last night I'm sure. =,( Really felt like crying, it just got so frustrating! And I don't know what's with Rafa and Kuyt, don't know what he sees in Kuyt that we don't, he keeps breaking the flow forward. He did really well before Torres arrived, he worked well with Bellamy, but when Torres arrived, it's all about fitting in with Torres. It's not that he's a lousy player, it's just that he doesn't click with him. Hais and it's heart-wrenching cus' he tries so hard. I really love Benayoun but he wasn't quite himself last night...hmmm. =( And Arbeloa just doesn't work for us as CB. As they say there's a very fine line between genius and insanity, Rafa are you listening?
As much as I like Rafa (he seems like a really nice man) but I seriously think he should make his substitutions earlier if he wanna change something. Hmm... Just hope next year will be a better year for us!
Whew! Ok I gotta take a break from intense blogging haha shall come up with a new year resolution list later. XD Happy New Year's Eve fellas!

Woke up damn early today cus' Mee's giving a McD's breakfast treat. Lol. Mum really knows best. Use food as bait, and we're like Poohs to honey. Got up at 8+ am, lazed around on the bed for a while more, very tired from the previous day (we went K-ing and 'hiking' for food post-King, more on that later :D), had to literally crawl.Bought some stuff from Watson's, a brand new ultra-thick notebook for 2008, a NEW TOOTHBRUSH, a new hairband (I know, again!) etc. Got down to dumping my notes and stuff, my area's spick and span now. :D* See, being clean isn't all that difficult. Lol! :P And and we got a handphone accessory from Mee (early Christmas gift). Super cute la, but they were teasing that the doll wasn't smiling and it's not not good luck and stuff so I told them that it's red in color, red IS an auspicious color. Smelly 1, The Folks 0. :D
Gonna pull the old, dusty tree from the storage and do some decorating soon! Thickens up the whole Christmassy atmosphere. :D
Anyhoo, went to K yesterday with Bobo, Yu, Roo, Aunty Lum and Nana. I was early for once! *confetti pop!* Lol. Yu and I got the limeade (Minute Maid's) to mix in with the vodka (snitched from Roo's :D). But it was stored in a plastic bottle, thus, no booze (again! D:). Next time ok Yu! Haha then we set off on our 'hike' to B-Box (nothing to do with beatboxing :D). We reached there really early, and the lights weren't even on yet, kinda like walking into one of those empty shops on an empty street ala "House of Wax", we were gonna like stand around outside to wait till it opens, lol but Bobo (pro!) stood at the reception counter and niam-ed about letting us into the room first and stuff, and the guy really let us in. o_0! Power right!?! Was super fun and we got pretty high when we saw Wang Jie on some ancient music videos. Hahaha Aunty Lum and Yu said he's handsome in a rugged way. Yeah... u_u" At the later part of the session, we went Huang Jin Nian Hua, picked off the oldies (!!!) to the dismay of the younger generation (Nana and I!). We realised Aunty Lum can do an awesome vibrato, so we officially have 2 Pavarottis in our midst. :D Hahaha oh yeah and the the music videos were really errr... entertaining (if you get what I mean). Lol.
After K-ing for a loooong time (imagine it rained then it stopped while we were in there), we set off for food. We literally hiked to our food destination. Actually wanted to settle our dinner somewhere nearer but there were some issues so we gotta move on, I swear my stomach was cursing and swearing! Lol. Felt like we were walking from one train station to the next, haha! But it's okay, just realised hunger boosts creativity, like seriously, on the way managed to compose a song, the Hungry Song. Lol. Finally reached there and for a sec I thought thought we were in Vietnam, cus' the Zi Char people were like pulling customers XD. The aftermath? Super bloated cus' I think we ate too fast! Haha I'm so proud of myself! I managed to finish an entire plate of Hokkien Mee SOLELY with chopsticks. *flash Darlie-worthy smile* :D My burp was trapped in my throat area and it simply refused to come out lor! And the bus gotta jerk, jerk, and jerk. Haha it felt like forever (even though it was only 2 stops), the traffic was really bad o_0! Nana and I are skilled public transport sleepers, really! We can take a short shut-eye like on ANY transport. XDReached home dead beat (walked home) and crashed really soon after.
Did lotsa singing and walking and I'm still in the sleep mode today.*yawns* Great, there's some Taiwanese food variety show on TV. I am not hungry. I am not hungry... I am not hungry... Really, if you come to Singapore, most shows you watch on tele's featuring food like 80% of the time. XD
Oh yeah oh yeah, there's a monumental match at 8.30pm Liverpool vs ManU(re). It's not as urgent a match as the one against Marseille in Champs League, but you know what the atmosphere's like when Liverpool meets ManU, it's like a Xiao Jing Teng vs Yang Zong Wei thing. Read Fergie's interview on The New Paper and I am super pissed about some of his comments, like how he'd rather see us get relegated then walk away with the Premiership title. D: He'd better be a joke or I'm so gonna *hiyak* him. :) Anyhoo, I'll wear my lucky Liverpool shorts and hope Rafa and the lads are on a high today. You'll never walk a-lone~~~ :D And if it's Pleat commentating, for the nth time please it's Ben-Na-Yoon and not Ben-Ya-Noon. :)

★ Subject registration sucks! ★
Woke up really early in the morning today just to register my subjects for the next semester. Haven't brushed my teeth, washed my face. Imagine me with messy hair (then again you guys never seen me with neat hair :D), in PJs parked in front of my lappy, crazily clicking on the mouse.
Alas, my fingers are too slow again! Out of the 3 english mods I wanted, I only got 1. =,( But the 2 that I added are quite okay I guess. As for the other electives... -_-||| Wanted BS803 cus' that elective's like super slack with a MCQ-based exam!!! Matches perfectly with a super slacker like me, but the vacancies are like 600+ and the waitlist's like 2000+! o_0! So, I changed the order of choice, think it'll be safer to put electives that I'm more likely to get in the top 3. Yeap so I sacrificed preference for probability. I hope this is the wisest decision I made so far. *fingers crossed* Wanted to take Japanese this sem, it's in choice #2 under the unrestricted electives, but I doubt I can get it (again!). As for prescribed elective (STSS), my #1 choice's Cyber Security, haha even though its waitlist exceeds the vacancies, it still ranks #1 on the probability scale as compared to the other electives I selected.
The people in my faculty got magic fingers la seriously! Dunno how they managed to chiong inside so fast, like barely 5 minutes inside STARS (the subject registration system name), and my 2 english mods are snapped up! o_0! Am I too slow? Or are they too fast? Grrr gotta strategise a week in advance at least next sem! Haha I took a few hours to plan the day before and remembered to use the STARS planner to add all of them in instead of manually adding them in STARs. Haha yeap you heard me right, I actually added them in one by one the prev semesters. XD
I'm gonna check back on the vacancy status for HL202 and HL217 (my top 2 that I didn't manage to get)! HL202 is on Shakespeare and his contemporaries, but the professor for this mod's well-known for being a super slacker (haha!) so I don't feel as disappointed not getting it. But the one I'm most interested in taking is HL217, it's a directed study in African Literature la!!! I want that one!!! Sounds super interesting! =,( Hope someone drops it before the add-drop period ends. Please, please!
Haha phew~ Feels so much better venting my STARs woes, can get my thoughts (strategies/plans during the add-drop period, the battle isn't over until then! :D) sorted out. Wish me luck! Hope my ammo's enough for Battle of the Add-drop! :D
Anyhoo, now that it's over, I've got an announcement to make! Tiss just told me about a road show that's organised by her sister and friends in Tanglin Shopping Centre, it's sorta like a launch party since they recently revamped the building, it's from 12 pm to 6pm. So if you guys are reading this and are interested to check it out, do go down to Tanglin Shopping Centre tomorrow (15th Dec!!!) 12pm-6pm! There'll be stalls selling stuff, entertainment acts like magic shows, busking etc, henna art, food stalls, more...!
Will be meeting the booze fellas for KTV-ing tomorrow so can't go support. Sorry Tiss!

★ SCHOOL. JAM! :) ★
Phew~ Just settled my timetable for the coming semester, even managed to throw in some back-up subs JUST in case I didn't manage to get my #1 subs (touchwood!). So, all there is left to do is to wake up reaally early and park myself in front of me lappy and CLICK like there's no tomorrow. :D
Serious stuff aside, here's a video (and some pictures below) of Jam's news on 娛 樂 百 分. He's been invited to sing the Mandarin version of the theme song for animation movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks". He gotta do 6 different kinda voices cus' in the song, there's 3 chipmunks as the lead and 3 mummy chipmunks to do the harmony. Jam's also doing it for charity, cus' it'll be compressed into a DVD, all proceeds will go to a welfare fund for orphans and unfortunate kids. He's so sweet! Cus' he saw the lil' chipmunks and he thought the kids are definitely gonna love the movie, so he accepted the offer immediately. Haha but it took quite awhile to do the promotional video. XD

Wooh pre-match analysis with Derek Currie. I love his Scottish (or is it Irish?) accent. He pronounced 'three' as 'thlee'. Like so cool la! Yeap agree with him that this is the tightest group in the entire CL history, every match is a make or break. Players dreading it, fans loving it. Haha well, I'm lovin the excitement with each match. How not to!?! Liverpool wins this, we are through. Marseille wins this, they are through. Draw? Liverpool will then go through if Besiktas beats Porto (not very possible considering their performance so far).
Let's hope we can have an epic win tonight (Liverpool always does well at Europe so I'm pretty hopeful but shan't say it out loud should it jinx our title hopes, yeah I am pantang), otherwise Rafa's gonna look stupid after that Reading sacrifice. And with a win, it'll defnitely soothe the pain we from the Reading incident, bloody ref got his refereeing guide all screwed up or something. The ref should give himself a red man. If you guys wanna know what we mean by"referee kayu", just watch our match against Reading. :)
Wooh just saw the line-up. Rafa's played out a good team tonight. But I was hoping for a Crouchy-Torres affair instead of Kuyt-Torres. Don't know, but I always felt that Kuyt's a tad slow to link up Torres near the box. And with the Katik Marseille players (think Valbuena, Ziani), Crouchy can do more damage. Haha but I'm still satisfied with the line-up. :D Currie just commented that Kuyt's gonna do a lot of running -_-" He always does a lot of running. Ohh! The centre of midfield has both guile and craft in Mascherano and Gerrard, great communication. Kewell and Benayoun provides skill and creativity from wide areas. With this skin, not only can you guys listen to Jam's latest music, but SEE Jam as well! Haha aren't you guys a lucky bunch. ;D Oh yea oh yea! Talking about Jing Teng, his book's gonna be released on Christmas Day itself, I'm so gonna get it! And his debut album come January next year as well! It's been ages since I last BOUGHT an album, so yeap I'm pretty excited, can't wait! :DDD
Actually went down to school yesterday to settle some admin stuff then down to Bt. Panjang Plaza. There was a downpour throughout, and I gotta hike up the lil' 'hill' to get to the Student Services Centre. I was kinda surprised to see so many people in school during the holidays. Haha it felt kinda fun though. Will be busy until Wednesday then it's the subject registration period (yet again!). D:
I'm waiting for the match against Marseille to start. *fingers crossed* Let it be a victory please, it'll help me get over the Reading incident. =,( We underperformed that fateful night, and aided by MANY wrongful decisions by the Kayu ref, we actually got pwned by Reading. It's a historical moment for Reading and Liverpool (for the wrong reasons). One man's rise is another man's downfall. Tsk, that is life sometimes, eh?
Been pouring lately, and I've got this craving for takoyaki again! Piping hot takoyaki=heaven. :D God. Just thinking about it makes my stomach growl. Haha if you think Smelly's just feasting over the holidays, you are WRONG! Haha I've started jogging again after sooo long, went jogging with Nut last Sat/Sun (??), boy did it feel good. :D It sure helped to work out a huge appetite afterwards.

Haha sorry for the 9 day MIA stint. Took some time off to do stuff that Ihaven't been doing for a pretty long time. :D And there's good news! I finally found my ezLink card baby! C'mon, say your hurrahs!
Clubbing Boozing at Zouk tonight's officially postponed. Let's do it on a ladies' night! Free flow's a definite appeal for me. :)
Anyways, you guys gotta make it a point to catch Xiao Jing Teng in tomorrow's Golden Horse Awards. It'll be on Channel U at 9:30pm-11:00pm, and continued at 11:30pm. The one on Channel U's a same-day delayed telecast. Alternatively, it's gonna be alive broadcast on Channel 56, Starhub Cable TV at 5:30pm (the red carpet), 7:30pm (the awards ceremony). Jam's gonna be walking down the red carpet alone so do watch out for him! :D
Liverpool's doing well. The lads back at Anfield must be really happy. On a side note, Harry Kewell kinda reminded me of Zidane. Oh yeah, I'm gonna confer the title of Little Zizou to Harry. :D And Imma liking Benayoun more and more. I hope Rafa's not gonna leave us cus' I reaaally respect him, it's not everyday you see EPL managers sticking to their guns, holding on to their faith and principles y'know with all the commercialism and threats of getting the sack from the higher-ups. So yeah, hope that lil' issue's blown over.
Besides listening to Jam, I've been listening to a lot of LP's Minutes to Midnight lately, the acoustics blending in with industrial and rap sounds are highly addictive! Lotsa fans noticed that LP's taken the U2 direction, y'know that save-the-earth take on their music? But gimme LP any day cus' Chester's vocals to die for, the band supporting his vocals is crazily awesome too. Saw a commerical for their Minutes to Midnight CD/DVD or is it concert DVD on TV earlier. If it's their concert DVD I'll definitely be interested!
Oh yeah oh yeah, I've been feeling a lil' crafty recently! Haha not cunning crafty, but artsy crafty. Just feel like doodling and sketching all the time, it's time to get a brand new sketch book and marker pens for ammo. Gonna get an organiser for next year soon. :D Soon it'll be hello 2008 and goodbye 2007.
