Weee~ Happy happy =]

Got back my HL102 assignment today and I got....A !!! LOL I'm the most confident in this assignment so now I'm super happy, lar!

But my HW101 and HL104 essays will 100% flop. *sighs* My HL101 essay will also flop, but the Prof says that almost everyone's essays were crap. So, I'm not too worried since I'm not the only one. =p

Ahhhh~ Scared, but I still don't feel the stress...yet.

Exams coming in a few weeks' time! Assignments! GREAT! I'm having a deadline rush now! =]

Life has never been better! =]

LOL Karthik is funny, his reaction when he saw those ball-jointed Carmine dolls was so freaking hilarious! He went 'eeee' and in a zao xia kinda voice! LOL He's my version of Johnny English! Oh and only 15 people went fot the Halloween party! Hello, if you wanna organise parties next time please ask the Profs to delay deadline! =]

Carling Cup Round 3 Result:

Liverpool 4 - 3 Reading

LFC's goal-scorers: Fowler ("44), Riise ("45), Paletta ("49), Crouch ("77)

RFC's goal-sc
orers: Bikey ("75), Lita ("80), Long ("84)

4 goals contributed by Liverpool lads Fowler (my sentimental favorite still in LFC), John Arne Riise, debutant Paletta and Crouchy (!) got us through to the 4th round of the Carling Cup. Though Reading really gave us a major 2nd half scare, just look at the intervals in between the 3 goals scored by RFC! Nice name, Bikey. =D

It felt so good and nostalgic to see Robbie Fowler don the captain's armband again since 2001, still remembered how he went into decline, there was a time where Fowler was put into cold storage by Houllier, subsequently moving off to Leeds and then Man City, now BACK to where he belongs. Rafa, can you do that to Owen too once he's recovered from his injury? If Ronaldo can make a comeback, Owen can too. I'd be the happiest person in the world (even if it's only for a season) if I could see the Owen-Fowler pairing again.

The strike also ensured Fowler finally moved a goal ahead of Kenny Dalglish and up to second
in the club's leading League Cup scorers chart with only Ian Rush ahead of him. Ian Rush leh! The goal-scoring machine back in our glory days! And now Fowler's only 2nd to him! He came back after going through a BIG roundabout in Leeds then Man City then back again to achieve this feat! Is this cool or what?

Riise got a well-deserved goal after a nice set-up pretty mush orchestrated by the man himself. This guy got balls I tell you, he's sharp, alert, young and aggressive. Watch
out!

Woohoo~ Argentinian Paletta debuted in this match and joined in the 4 goal run over Reading. Grabbed a goal on his debut, left a pretty good impression on me, hmm shall keep him in check for furth
er games. Though with Rafa's rotation policy, wonder when we can get to see this guy again? Hmm but he's a freshie in Anfield, so I guess Rafa will field him more often to let him break into his new position in Liverpool, just like how you'd wear new shoes and make it a lil more seasoned. So, Paletta, we'll see more of you, I guess.

Weee~ A goal fr
om Crouchy after a flawless pass from Fowler, gurantees us a 4 goal victory! Give Mr Teck-ko (bamboo) some credit, he's no longer a joke lar. Don't discriminate against him just cus' he's taller than most earthlings can?

I've been playing Maplestory religiously for the past month or so, no worries Mum's back to keep t
abs on me, so I haven't really neglected my studies, I guess. =D And Liverpool's goalkeeper Pepe Reina has something in common with Maple! For maplers, there's this monster called the Jr. Pepe ----> and it drops Pepe fish ----> There's a monster named after Pepe Reina! Immortalized!

More football! Zidane's gonna make plans for his future after his retirement from football. And guess what? That Italian piece of shit Materrazi says "he's still not ready to shake hands with Zidane". PLEASE LAR! Do you think Zidane's holy hand will wanna touch youre filthy ones huh? Grrrrr. Here's wishing Zidane all the best!

Away from football~ Mum's finally back from Shanghai, Suzhou and some other zhou. LOL. I don't think it was a holiday cus' she felt so tired after the trip. Imagine having to get up at 6am in the morning for 10 days and then rushing off to see the many attractions in the zhous! Like some intensive training camp, lar. LOL. And she couldn't even remember any of the names of the sites she went to lar, other than where the infamous rape of Nanjing took place. My aunts and me mum were complaining how dirty and congested (to put it mildly) Shanghai was. Hmm Oriental Pearl? Sounds more like a **** to me. She said it was like the Christmas Countdown crowd @Orchard multiplied by a 100. Yeah, it was THAT bad. And there were like people spitting everywhere and anywhere they go. YUCK! Then one of my aunts was eating something and she was looking for a bin to dispose if the wrapper, then the tour guide (from China and earns only 200 hundred bucks RMB every mth!) tell her "Sui bian dui" (Just throw, help yourself to the rubbish dump that we already have here). Being a true blue Singaporean, she cannot bear to throw lar, so another Singaporean in the group said "Lai wo bang ni diu lar!" (Come I help you throw lar!) and he really did it! Wah sey. I think we really pick up bad habits there man! My poor mum, she was having lunch after she touched down, and she ate so damned fast lar! Then I told her to relax, cus' she's not in China already, don't have to rush to another attraction so can take her time to eat.

Wah sey! Not my kinda holiday man! My ideal holiday a beach getaway! As long as it's a beach, got sun, sand, sea, GOOD food is an added BONUS! Wah then it'll be super for me already. Ahhh~ When are the holidays coming man!

Phew~ Finally got rid of the long list of ass-ays! This week is purely devoted to doing ass-ays man. I think I did well for the Gatsby ass-ay, but as for Heart of Darkness? Totally different story. Min and I were betting that our ass-ays will prolly be flashed on-screen or posted on edVenture as an example of a ...BAD essay! : p

Was late for lecture today cause' I overslept, I was chiong-ing essays the days/nights before, I'm like a walking zombie right now. Watched Wizard of Oz today! The original version by Judy Garland, it's old but surprisingly it's awesome la! Uber funny! And the effects are damn cool, there's colored smoke coming out of the Witch's broomstick as she flies across the sky, like NDP fighter jets lidat! Plus! The tin-man, lion and scarecrow oso uber cute and funny! And it's not that kinda slap-stick or run-of-the-mill kinda humor, it's like the witty kinda humor. And the lyrics in the songs are often sarcastically funny also! Nice nice! I give... 5 popcorns!

Looking back on my last 5 posts, I realised they actually grew shorter and shorter! Lol and I'm showing symptoms of the Lazy Blogger Syndrome! Die~ Cannot! So I added some stuff and came up with this don't-sound-like-a-post kind of post.

I have only 1 assignment for this week! Weee~ Next assignment for HL104 will be some write-up on the Wizard of Oz! Wah~ I predict it's gonna be interesting. Hmmm I resolve to plan and do my essay about a week before the deadline, cus' I don't want history to repeat itself. As a result of soing all my essays at the last minute, my body clock's gone haywire! So it's gonna take some time for me to get over this 'jet-lag'. Ok ok I shall make a promise here: I hereby promise to revise my school stuff and do essays regularly.

Woo~ Have been watching some movies in school recently for my course. Films like Persona (German), Waiting for Godot by and of course Wizard of Oz. Persona is pretty cool, for a 1966 film it was so artistically done, though-provoking. As the name suggests, the theme revolves around your true identity and the mask that you put on that may often be the opposite of your true self. In the movie, a nurse (Alma) takes care of a popular actress who refuses to speak though she's perfectly healthy mentally and physically. Over time, Alma discovers that her personality is welding with the actress's, so her personality's like slowly morphing into the actress's. Pretty spooky thought, some parts are a lil cheem for us though, so until we go for lectures on this film, the grey areas will be left uncovered.

Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett is also very, very thought-provoking. In this play, nothing really happens. Throughout the movie, the 2 characters Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for this person named Godot under this dead tree (looks dead to me), and it is not even certain if there is this person named Godot, they aren't even sure he's coming. The main gist of this movie is to illustrate the endless repetition of waiting,of habit; like us repeating our daily routine everyday going to school coming back to school etc. Pretty cool idea.

Wooh so many big ideas. Haha but for now! I'm gonna give meself a 'well-deserved' (I think) break! Weee~

And a piece of YoYo news: Asia Pacific YoYo Championship 2006 will be held again at Genting in December, this annual event features professional YoYo players from all across Asia like Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, SIngapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines. Anyone going to Genting this December (actual date and venue to be confirmed) MUST go check this out, and tell me if you're going can help me get Duncan or Radioactive yoyo shirts! =)

Saturday, October 07, 2006 , 12:36 AM

Weee~ Just got back home from our annual family Mooncake Festival celebration! Haha we played candles, or rather burn stuff and I even made a very nice piece of wax 'whom' I named 'Spotty', had actually wanted to scrape Spotty from the ground and bring it back, but can't! =( Never mind, I took a pic of it and shall upload soon. =)

There was actually this Mooncake Festival celebration happening around the estate, and there was a lion dance troupe too! Haha and they were like giving out FREE lanterns! But, we didn't take. =(

When we were going home, the haze actually worsened, like within a span of 30 minutes? One moment it was pretty clear, then things took a bad turn the next. And I actually thought it's cus' the whole of Singapore were playing candles lar, that's why it got kinda hazy. Then the News confirmed it was the haze. Hmmm really bad. Mum's gonna get masks from the clinic.

Wooh my eyes are really drying up fast. Everyone PLEASE take good care of yourselves! The haze's pretty bad and drink LOTS of water! Try to stay indoors. Keep haze-free!

Weee~ School has started 2 days ago! Passed up 2 of my essays already...doubt I'll do well. Haha oh well. I like having long lunches especially on tuesdays, haha can crap with friends before 'Quiggy's lecture starts.

Haha at least I got to know them better. Jim's a strong advocate of cable TV and obviously supports Man U, is a foodie though he doesn't really look like it, he's intelligent and fun to talk with, in the sense that it's fun and at the same time, you learn a lot, especially about other countries. Karthik is another really witty and intelligent and he's a gentleman, haha cus' he treat us to drinks (dessert actually but we took drinks instead, haiya should have ordered ice kachang!). Needless to say, Veron's like really, really smart, she actually has a law degree in Aussie already but came back here for treatment, so she took up a degree again, she's really thoughtful and matured, haha cus she's a few years my senior she's really street-wise. Tissina's an anime/JRock fan, she's currently hooked on ouran high anime and L'Ar En Ciel (I think I just spelt it wrongly).

Haha yesterday we were real suay, after 'Quiggy's lecture, Veron and I were on our way home and we met...let's call her YakYak. Yak Yak is pretty notorious in our class, if not the entire faculty, cus' she's overtly outspoken and most of the time there really is no link with the topic. So whenever she speaks up in class esp HW101 some people will giggle and stuff cus she always has something to say, 'most of it irrelevant' (opinion offered by Michelle). And she doesn't seem to know that some people doesn't like her la. And as I was saying, we met YakYak on the way. YakYak is friendly actually, it's just...I can't put it into words. Well, she whips out this 3 page thingy on Bush's quotes which are pretty funny and she reads them aloud to us, pointing out the ones that she thinks are the funniest. Okay, so far the conversation's pretty good (though she could have spoken at a lower vol). Then she kept repeating all of Bush's quotes again and after Veron alighted I had to tahan her all the way to Jurong East station. I was praying that the train will move faster throughout the journey. I hinted that I didn't wanna continue the Bush thingy and said "Wah, so sleepy" and shut my eyes praying that it'll stop her. Unfortunately, it DIDN'T! So, she flipped the pages (there's just 3) and read them ALOUD again and I'm supposed to laugh heartily at them AGAIN, cus after reading a qoute she'll pause a lil while, like that's a signal for me to go HAHA. At the beginning, it was a genuine HAHA but after 30 mins of the same Bush stuff, it's really getting to me and it died down to a meek HEH.

The worst thing was Maggie and Dawn were on the same train to Jurong East as us. Haha and I bet they sympathize with me man! I didn't even dare to look at them, cus' I'm afraid I may just burst out laughing if I look at their eyes, cus' they'll show the 'YakYak's at it again?'. And so YakYak kept reading and reading and laughed, and I was going HEH most of the time. Thankfully Jurong East saved ME!!! I grabbed my bag and *POOF* to safety!

Haha I feel mean to say all these but it's true. -_-" OMG! What if karma gets to me?? Crikes!

Growls. Dinner time! Chow down folks!
