Mum slipped and fell at home the other day. Scared the shit outta me, I'd never seen anyone fallen so seriously except in an ice hockey game. She slipped and fell on the back of her head. Called my aunt over for help. Grabbed a plastic bag and filled it with ice, placed it on her head.

My aunt drove her to the polyclinic. Her blood pressure actually shot up to 190. But the doc didn't seem very professional, the nurse came in halfway through the consultation and told him "Your umbrella." It was obvious they wanna rush home. He referred her to A&E. On the way to Tan Tock Seng, we got Mum to relax a little. Finger massaged her, her hands were cold. I was worried sick. Everything happened so fast.

Only one person was allowed in with Mum, so I sat at the waiting area. I just stared at the television. On retrospect, I think they placed it too high up. Lotsa injured and sick people were rushed in by paramedics. Tried to think positively, but the ah pek beside me kept sighing. Saw a bangla worker with a gash on his cheek, nurse was putting pressure on it with gauze. It was raining outside.

Finally came out, doctor said she seemed fine, like she can balance, think straight etc. Cannot stop tearing when she's given the green, was holding up so many emotions inside throughout the entire incident it was crazy. Gotta monitor her for the next 24-28 hours to see if she experience any giddiness, vomiting etc. All of us slept together in the same room that night, brings me back to my childhood years, how my folks would sleep over with us when we had the pox or when we were ill. So glad that she's fine. It was kinda traumatic, hope nothing like this ever happen again. Came out of it and realised the importance of cherishing your loved ones. Please get well soon Mee!

Went to the temple at Bugis to pray the next day.

Everything will be fine, as long as you look on the brighter side.
