There have been some serious rumors going around that Manure...oops I mean Manchester United is interested in Michael Owen! I hope he doesn't move to Manure United, even though my mind says that it would be the best opportunity for him to get back to top-flight EPL football scene again, but my heart says he should NEVER, NEVER, EVER move to Maure Utd! It's for his best interests at heart, he might jolly well get stoned to death if he steps into Anfield again, AGAINST Liverpool. That will be my greatest nightmare. I don't want a love-hate relationship with my first soccer idol.
What in the world is Manure thinking? I bet there's some conspiracy going on! Maybe Manure spread those rumours themselves to play a mind game, to get the Liverpool lads back at home feeing a lil' jittery and unsettled. I mean it's odd to me that Manure would be interested in Michael Owen, he's undoubtedly an awesome striker, but there are one hundred and one reasons (maybe even more) why it doesn't make sense. I've consolidated some of them:
- I doubt Newcastle will sell Owen, since Newcastle's prolly gonna have a Obafemi Martins-Michael Owen setup. Attracting stars like Michael Owen isn't easy for a club like Newcastle considering the fact that they're not in the Champions League. If Owen's staying in Newcastle, they're a team to look out for next season, that is if Owen can survive w/o an injury.
- It is no myth that he's prolly one of the, if not THE most injury-prone striker in the EPL, literally out of soccer action for 10 months plus since the World Cup. Why would Newcastle wanna let him go after all the medical treatment and costs incurred on him? Conversely, why would Manure Utd splurge money on an injury-riddled striker who's sat out for almost a year, managing less than 20 league games in 2 seasons?
- Manure United already has a consistent and effective strikeforce, why would Fiery Fergie wanna change that? That is unless he wanna pull off one of Rafa's notorious rotation policies, which I doubt he will since Fiery Fergie's the classic and conventional kinda managers, takes no risks.
- Remember that Rooney-Owen gambling debt scandal? Fiery Fergie obviously isn't too pleased in Owen then, why the interest now?
- Louis Saha's pretty injury-prone, why get another injury-prone striker? Makes no sense, be it dollars or sense.
- He's a born and bred Liverpool lad, never in history has that happen in Anfield history. With the exception of Paul Ince, who moved from Manure Utd to Liverpool.
- I don't want him to move to Manure Utd. If Fowler can make it back to Liverpool, I always harbor this hope that I can see him don that Red jersey once again. I think Rafa has silent contemplation to sign on Owen, not now, maybe in future once he's playing consistent football.
Moving to Manure Utd would mean playing in the Champions League, which is I think, a dream for all soccer players. A move to Manure would mean a loss of prolly all of the Liverpool fans (still supporting him).
