Phew~ Finally got rid of the long list of ass-ays! This week is purely devoted to doing ass-ays man. I think I did well for the Gatsby ass-ay, but as for Heart of Darkness? Totally different story. Min and I were betting that our ass-ays will prolly be flashed on-screen or posted on edVenture as an example of a ...BAD essay! : p

Was late for lecture today cause' I overslept, I was chiong-ing essays the days/nights before, I'm like a walking zombie right now. Watched Wizard of Oz today! The original version by Judy Garland, it's old but surprisingly it's awesome la! Uber funny! And the effects are damn cool, there's colored smoke coming out of the Witch's broomstick as she flies across the sky, like NDP fighter jets lidat! Plus! The tin-man, lion and scarecrow oso uber cute and funny! And it's not that kinda slap-stick or run-of-the-mill kinda humor, it's like the witty kinda humor. And the lyrics in the songs are often sarcastically funny also! Nice nice! I give... 5 popcorns!

Looking back on my last 5 posts, I realised they actually grew shorter and shorter! Lol and I'm showing symptoms of the Lazy Blogger Syndrome! Die~ Cannot! So I added some stuff and came up with this don't-sound-like-a-post kind of post.

I have only 1 assignment for this week! Weee~ Next assignment for HL104 will be some write-up on the Wizard of Oz! Wah~ I predict it's gonna be interesting. Hmmm I resolve to plan and do my essay about a week before the deadline, cus' I don't want history to repeat itself. As a result of soing all my essays at the last minute, my body clock's gone haywire! So it's gonna take some time for me to get over this 'jet-lag'. Ok ok I shall make a promise here: I hereby promise to revise my school stuff and do essays regularly.

Woo~ Have been watching some movies in school recently for my course. Films like Persona (German), Waiting for Godot by and of course Wizard of Oz. Persona is pretty cool, for a 1966 film it was so artistically done, though-provoking. As the name suggests, the theme revolves around your true identity and the mask that you put on that may often be the opposite of your true self. In the movie, a nurse (Alma) takes care of a popular actress who refuses to speak though she's perfectly healthy mentally and physically. Over time, Alma discovers that her personality is welding with the actress's, so her personality's like slowly morphing into the actress's. Pretty spooky thought, some parts are a lil cheem for us though, so until we go for lectures on this film, the grey areas will be left uncovered.

Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett is also very, very thought-provoking. In this play, nothing really happens. Throughout the movie, the 2 characters Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for this person named Godot under this dead tree (looks dead to me), and it is not even certain if there is this person named Godot, they aren't even sure he's coming. The main gist of this movie is to illustrate the endless repetition of waiting,of habit; like us repeating our daily routine everyday going to school coming back to school etc. Pretty cool idea.

Wooh so many big ideas. Haha but for now! I'm gonna give meself a 'well-deserved' (I think) break! Weee~
